Stone skimming @steephill - another one of life's great joys. The beach at Ardmair Bay has the best stones for it In a little link to my previous posts, a little of my parents' ashes are scattered there. Scene of many childhood holidays, and I took the girls there for a visit. 'A wee skliff' was an oft used term by my Mum. I wouldn't have known the different spellings - she would always have been referring to a small piece of something. Lovely that he eats out of your hand @Ergates. Dave is hopelessly nervous, and won't come nearer than about 18 inches, although he did come into the kitchen one day, then did an about turn on the way out, and of course, had a major panic attack when he tried to fly out the window instead of the open door....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Did anyone ever play that game with a tennis ball pushed into an old stocking. You had to play it up against the wall while singing rhymes like over the garden wall, I let my baby fall. Or the one about extremely well endowed Billy.
I was skimming stones there about 2 months ago Fairygirl, perfect stones for the job. Wee Uff found a plastic skimming thing like a flat donut and it made his holiday, he even brought it home with him. The weather was just the same as in the photo.
@Ergates I love your pigeon,I was in Yeovil a couple of years ago and saw a young girl come out of Poundland, open a big bag of Wild Bird Seed, and empty the lot on the pavement! It was an amazing sight, pigeons flying down from all the roofs. Ive never had the nerve to do that, but would love to!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

It's a much busier place than it was when we were children - unfortunately. There was nothing there apart from a handful of caravans, and a toilet a bit further along. ...and a couple of rowing boats for us to use.

And mine. Our niece was here on Boxing Day, wearing a spangly top. We're still seeing spangly bits everywhere despite hoovering.
Good luck with that, @KT53! About five years ago, we bought a pack of party poppers for Christmas. Thought they would have the usual paper streamers, but instead, they were filled with little metallic stars. The first three years were the worst, but we still find the occasional star if we move a piece of furniture.

There are many towns in which she could be prosecuted for littering by doing that.
