I have been very virtuous this year! For years,I have bought plug plants, potted them on, planted my hanging baskets Easter weekend, then they are all lovely and filled when they go out at the end of May. After the late frosts last year, and having every single window sill and our dining table full for months instead of the green house,I swore I wouldn't do it again. The only thing I intend to buy is a few scented trailing begonias.

@Nanny Beach the thing is, once we are hooked, we are hooked for life. Enjoy your gardening!

I've had a lovely few hours outside sowing seed and faffing with various things. Great to get the washing completely dry too. Beautiful day after the wee light frost. The long tailed tits were in getting their food, and the buzzards were 'buzzarding' high up, just  loud enough for me to hear them. Four of them.
    Old washing machine gone too.
I had to look at that twice too @pansyface :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Spent nearly all the morning having a long walk at the Donkey Sanctuary. It actually got a bit too hot! Stopped at Waitrose on the way home, and finally managed to use my printed screenshot vouchers and saved £7.50. Result!

I've just finished reading a lovely book called "The Living Mountain" by Nan Shepherd.  It's an intimate portrayal of the Cairngorms, written by a woman who spent virtually every spare moment among the mountains - but not a description of getting to the top of anything, more about sensations and feelings.

"I knew when I had looked for a long time that I had hardly begun to see..."

Highly recommended for anyone who a) likes mountains, and/or b) is happy absorbing the essence of a place.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
