@Lizzie27 we found bright buttercup yellow under New York.   This is the before:

Desperately dark even after I'd painted the opposite walls a peral grey and with the afternoon sun pouring in.

I liked Sydney but have never fancied NY.  I like open skies.

@Heartinthedirt - our new shower will be installed next Friday.   Fortunately we have a separate shower room for our bedroom, otherwise I'd be getting very impatient.

There's nothing to match a nice big Muriel on the wall.  It's just missing the row of ducks across the skyline to complete the picture.  Stan and Hilda would love it.  Now I'm showing my age :D

@Heartinthedirt. Which one did you get. I saw one that looked reasonably cheap, if not particularly ergonomic. Then I realised you had to buy the battery separately - £140!
I like the look of the Stihl one

I see what you mean @Obelixx

My DIL's decorators found four layers of tiles in their main bathroom recently, they regained quite a bit of space.

My mum was famous within the family for just re-papering over the old wallpaper in the family house. she maintained it kept the house warmer. It probably did as we had no central heating in those days.

Our wallpaper is keeping the plaster attached to the walls. I daren't remove it.

This afternoon's RTBC - it's raining PROPERLY for the first time in weeks, and looks like it's going to carry on for a few hours.

Shush @JennyJ!  You might jinx it.   Every time I've mentioned rain in the forecast to OH it has gone away and when it does finally start if one of us comments, it stops.

We're desperate for a good long downpour lasting a few days so it soaks the ground thoroughly so rain is now a taboo subject here.

That reminded me of the house we bought with 17 layers of paper in the sitting room.

We got about 5 hours steady rain, which is more than we've had for months and months :).

So did we @JennyJ. Really pleased but I would rather it didn't rain again tomorrow.
