I just checked the gauge (it was already dark when the rain stopped yesterday). 7mm :) That puts the total for September not very much below the long-term average figures.  I'd be quite happy if it rained again today but it doesn't look very likely.

No it didn't B3, it came off more or less in one sheet in parts and me being the curious type I carefully peeled some of it apart and I reckon the oldest layer was from about the 1930's. Actually, it was interesting to see the changes in styles.

There's some truly vile brown and orange wallpaper in the back of our airing cupboard.

    That or 70s
There might even be maroon involved. Can't check. It's behind a load of sheets.

I find changing the date on my wristwatch is quite a fiddle, so it’s been out a couple of days for some months. Couldn’t muster up the energy to do it in September so I decided to leave it to do in October. Looked at it this morning, and what do you know? It’s showing the 1st! I must double check now and make sure it hasn’t rolled over to the 2nd since midday, but at the moment I’m very pleased!

My new toy has just been delivered after several weeks of me deliberating shall I or shall I not. Electricity price rise persuaded me it would be a good idea.
It grieves me greatly to use my oven for one portion so I've bought an air fryer, special offer from the online shop starting with an A. My granddaughter thinks hers is wonderful and wishes it was bigger.

Anyway, I'll try it for roast potatoes for my dinner this evening and if I like it I'll post in here if not it will be Curmudgeons Corner. I'll do a double lot and freeze one portion.

My watch behaved perfectly for years, with its automatic calendar correctly adjusting for 'short' months.  Then it decided not to correct for a 30 day month.  I've been trying to correct it ever since.  A combination of dial positions is supposed to show the month when doing adjustments, but it now sits half way between the hours so I don't know if it's indicating June (6) or July (7) for example.  I correct the date and then have to wait a month to see if I've got it right.  Even more annoying is that it wasn't a cheap watch, but the manufacturer no longer offers a servicing option for it so I can't send it back to get it sorted.

I decided to do the roast potatoes early because 20 mins and no par boiling didn't seem long enough to cook them and I don't want soggy veg. Well it was spot on time wise. As it turns out enough to eat one portion and 2 for the freezer. I'll shove them back in to heat up when the time comes.
