My reasons to be cheerful today: the snowdrops are out,
the first crocus (I think Cream Beauty) opened today, there's the first Tête-à-tête
about to open, and the bluebells and irises are starting to poke through the
soil. Oh, and the turf spoil heap from when I first dug out my
flower/vegetable beds two years ago has almost gone! The very weediest top layer was disposed of so that we weren't completely overrun by dock and bittercress
seedlings, but everything else has either gone back onto the beds or has
been used to pot up tulips and container-happy shrubs etc. It has saved me a fortune on additional garden
centre compost that I can ill-afford and which wouldn't have lasted nearly as long. I am a happy gardener today!
Very nice @Uff Mine aren't quite doing their thing, but I reckon they're a different variety from the nivalis. They're out in other gardens farther away though. Lovely to see them. I have some pots to put in to various places. The native prims are looking good though, but they're rarely out of flower. I have a few little Cream Beauty crocus just starting to think about opening too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Strange you should say that FairyGirl. The ones in the garden bloom before the ones that I planted in the woodland. I'd have thought the opposite would be the case as it's warmer up there. I'm still thinking about the woronowii that I didn't buy last week. I have to go into town tomorrow and if there's still some left I might just buy some.
My RTBC today is getting the 3 in 10 on Popmaster! Then listening to Loose Ends on R4 with Neil Hannon as a guest. A Divine morning .... @Fairygirl will appreciate

Bummeroony @Dovefromabove. I missed the Neil Hannon thing - I don't really listen to R4 now. I expect it'll be on the catch up/iPlayer. I watched a good little item on YouTube the other day though. I'll see if I can find it and give you the name of it. Very enjoyable.
Older fairylet sorted the problem I had over the weekend with the Aye Pod - it was the cable that wasn't performing as it should. We've transferred a few albums onto it, so I'll have something better to listen to than the God awful Michael Ball when I'm out for a walk... Hearing him annihilating Carpenters songs a while ago - when he was talking to Richard Carpenter, was excruciating
A mate of mine, who is not exactly in the first flush of youth still referees football matches. He's just been informed by his county federation that he has been selected as one of the officials for the County Cup final. I congratulated him. His son's response was "You've finally been recognised as one of the 4 biggest w**kers in the county". Who'd have kids.

I'd love to go back to Puglia again.
Next time I'm likely to be in the area I'll get in touch .... your lifestyle sounds idyllic!
