Morning all, just been out to top up the bird feeders including the ground ones and got soaked. This is the second day of pouring rain and blowing a hoolie, we are on Red weather warning her for flooding, good job we live high up. I saw your poodle straight away Pat in the cloud. Time for a coffee - strong and black for me.

There's a load in the wash and I've whizzed around the downstairs with the waxed mop on the wood and a wet mop in the kitchen and cleaned the downstairs cloakroom ... OH has given the big hide rug a good shaking outside, I've dusted surfaces, shaken throws, plumped cushions and given the hob and the tiles behind it a good de greasing, and descaled the kitchen taps and given the sink a seeing to.  If that sort of thing doesn't get done on a Monday it might have to wait a week ........  ;)

You've just reminded me Dove I need to put a load in the wash also, but I'll finish my coffee first  :)

    Morning all.

I was going to say "one big cloud here", but Tui has already said it!

I like my coffee milky. Does anyone drink milk on its own? I like it.

I have a bit of a tummy ache today, don't know why.

Poor @raisingirl, hoping for some nice days so Jenny can enjoy being home. Will your vet do a home visit when the inevitable is required? I always wished I had realised that was an option with previous pets. Not sure what the situation with Covid is, our local vet seems to be doing some of their consultations on the pavement outside the surgery.

@Ergates The vet that's been treating her can't come to the house - they're too far away (in Bristol). In the past, with a couple of our other dogs who reached this point, we've called on the local vet to come out and hopefully they'll be able to but as you say, I'm not sure with Covid what they are allowed to do. Jenny is happiest in the boot of the car - she'll sleep all day out there on a warm day, so that may be an option if the vet doesn't want to come indoors. They are a farm vet though so used to being out of the surgery

Good luck, @raisingirl. I’m sure she can’t wait to get home and see you again. I remember collecting our Sheltie after an operation, the vet said he was the most miserable patient he’d ever seen, and was amazed at the rapid recovery when he saw us coming to get him!

Thanks @Ergates. The vet nurses said they have loved having Jenny there - she's such a sweet girl and very easy to please, completely trusting even of strangers and totally chilled. Vets are used to stressy dogs, I suppose, that aren't happy about being there and we've had one or two of those who had to be very carefully managed - wouldn't eat the whole time they were in the hospital, wouldn't sleep, barked or whined constantly, growled or had to be muzzled to be handled. Jenny is a completely different sort of dog - loves people, loves to sleep, rarely barks, just the odd whine when she needs something, tolerates any amount of poking and prodding as long as it's gentle. When they get greyhounds to listen to children reading out loud, Jenny is the sort of greyhound they mean. We've had others who were far less laid back. She's a honey.

@raisingirl   Hooray for Jenny!  So glad she is home.  Best place for a patient.
