Glad you are on the right road to recovery @tui34.
Good grief @WonkyWomble - sounds as if you will have a bit of a battle on your hands there but hopefully a rebate of lots of £££££s at the end of it.

I had the same problem as you @Busy-Lizzie - couldn't log in. But I closed my laptop down and went to bed and now it is fine.

Those bacon baps looked delicious @Dovefromabove - but I will need the baps to be gluten free I'm afraid.  I made the mistake of risking thick crusty bread with the hearty vegetable soup I made just after Christmas and though the bread was soooo tasty (with lashings of Bungay Butter) I paid for it later - it was a 2-Rennie job.
Welcome to @Penny_Forthem - hopefully you and @Uff will make short work of that batch.

My plan for today was: get out in the garden and get those beds mulched (same as yesterday).  But it is so wet and gloomy that I find I have urgent planning to do and emails to send...

  • I feel duly welcomed here  - delicious bacon baps; fine quality bacon (I can tell these things!)
I'm going to have an hour in the greenhouse, sorting my basil seeds - and maybe my chillies too. Hoping for an early sowing for a head start.
I pruned my Thai basil a month or so ago and it's sprung into life again.
Better check last year's chiilies too.

🪄 you’ll find my baps are perfectly fine for your innards @didyw 😉

OH has been out in the cold ‘cutting back’ rampant encroaching clematis from neighbour’s garden. MIL doesn’t mind losing a few flowers … he’s leaving a couple of feet of ‘overhang’ but stopping it reaching the ground and taking root!  It’s jolly cold out there but bright sunshine and clear blue sky … no sign of the snow ‘they’ promised for midday … ⛄️

No bacon butties here though I do love them.  Just polished off the last of the Xmas/NY leftovers for lunch - salmon, halibut and scallop fish casserole - with a slice of very black wholemeal bread (Nigella's No Knead) so now we'll be back to normal eating but no carbs in January to kick start weight loss again.   Have to shift the Xmas blubber and a bit more after that.

Meanwhile, I need to sort thru my fabric scraps to get a head start on my Boro project next week so I can help Nelly and Sylvie teach it.   One new member yesterday which brings us to our max of 35 - room and insurance limits - and that's too many for just two to manage given some are beginners.

@Busy-Lizzie Chrome is much better than IE but still gets its knickers in a twist occasionally so I usually just shut it all down, make a cuppa and then re-boot.  Even so, I can't get Pinterest on Chrome - probably no bad thing - and have to resort to Microsoft Edge to follow any links.   Unfathomable according to both OH and Possum who are far more PC/internet/mobile phone savvy than me.

Good afternoon everybody and welcome to the newcomers!

Thank you  @floralies and @didyw for your kind thoughts.

Those bacon baps look okay to me, with a nice green salad @Dovefromabove   My lovely Clematis has gone on holiday for the winter!

@WonkyWomble Wow!  I hope you get that problem sorted, this could be a head scratcher for electricity administrative people - I hope they don't put it into the "too hard basket".  They will need to rental contract as extra proof that you took out that contract when you did.  They may need other proof like bills and taxes to prove that you live where you live when you moved.  Papers always help.

Dismal again today - temperature to drop - a January winter expected!!

Enjoy the rest of your day.  Le jour de Saint-Odilon ne ramène rien de bon.  Eh...well.

Thanks, @Uff and @Busy-Lizzie. Seems to be partly working, I did the @ and the first letter, and got offered a choice. Isn’t in nice colours though, but at least a start!

Christmas tree and decorations all packed away! Still have to brave the loft ladder to put the tree up out of the way, but very pleased that all the decoration boxes went easily into the top of the wardrobe. So tidily that there is still room to stow some more stuff! Result!
