Would leaving a radio on quietly where the dogs are provide enough sound to muffle the outside huffling and snuffling? 😉

Hello Forkers. Nice sunny day here with a little breeze.  Hubby is planning on mowing some more grass with his ride-on mower.
There were a couple of Cunningham’s skinks lazing in the morning sun on the back wall this morning, so I’ve taken a couple of photos.

    They love the warm sun.

It’s a very quiet Australia Day here, but I imagine there are banjos and music down at the camping ground as usual.   Our usual FolkFestival weekend was cancelled because of the virus.  Never mind. I’m sure they’ll catch up next year. 🙄😁

  • Happy Australia Day @Pat E and I believe Happy Birthday @Allotment Boy:smiley:

Up early with pain, but definitely longer gaps  between medicine and pain not quite so unbearable , so definitely an improvement, slow steps I think.

New cleaner came yesterday and did a fabulous job so feeling better not to be looking at all the dust and not being able to do anything about it.

I might try and make some cakes today to put in the freezer for whilst I am on holiday. Have a nice recipe for some Hidden Hearts Cupcakes, thought they would be nice for the run up to Valentines, although with the hearts hidden I am not sure people will notice, will have to have one on display to demonstrate. Still have my little individual birthday cakes to ice, but I am not up to that yet. Slowly, slowly, not my usual habit.

Thank you for birthday wishes @AnnaB , don't worry, you didn't miss the party, going to be like the Queen and have an official birthday when I am feeling better. No idea what to suggest about the dogs, has it been the full moon do you think?

Good news @Busy-Lizzie, hope it lasts.

Your poor friend sounds like she has had a very bad time @didyw, poor lady.

@Hostafan1 and @punkdoc thinking of you both.

I am off back to bed now to try and get a bit more sleep now the painkillers are starting to work, catch you all later.

    Morning all,

Don't know what I'll do in the wee small hours when the tennis has finished in Australia :o

New tumble dryer being delivered today, and I got woken by a text at 6.20am, to tell me it’ll be here after 9.45! At least I was awake to see two roe deer run through the front garden!
Think I’ll try and doze off for another hour. Sorry for all you awake with aches and pains.
Are those the skinks that eat grated carrot, @Pat E?

That little heart cake is impressive DD. I can’t begin to imagine how you do that.

Yes Ergates.  They those are the skinks. Hubby has just been put to grate some more carrot for them and it’s already been eaten and they are waiting for some more. 😆

@Busy-Lizzie - what a relief to get your septic tank sorted, and at lower cost than first envisaged!
Sounds like the sap is rising all around where you are @AnnaB.
Nice to see the skinks @Pat E.  Hope that doesn't come up as a Wordle - I'd never get it!
Those hidden heart cakes look amazing @D0rdogne_Damsel. Yes, definitely have to have one cut in half for display.
Hope the heat pad works @Hostafan1.  I like a nice hot water bottle on my back.
I'm not usually here at this time - but an 8.30am start 2-hour zoom is on the cards for today.  Ridiculous time to start but they call it a breakfast meeting.  I'm sure they won't want to see me slurping up my muesli in my dressing gown though.  I know you lot won't mind.
