Just nursing a sore back here - been moving an awkwardly heavy sideboard round a corner. Bother...
Anyone know about gorse? I've just read a piece in "Positive News" about some research done at Aberdeen university, which found that gorse contains large quantities of proteins. Extracted and processed, they could be used for human and animal feed - they reckoned there's enough gorse in Scotland to supply the protein needs of the entire population.
It's pretty, too...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Not so great here, plumber hasn't turned up, was supposed to come this morning. Not answering his phone, can't leave a message - it's full. Good thing I have a bit of rough land. Would have liked a shower and a hair wash today and there is washing to be done.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Mind how you go @Liriodendron Backs are tricky. I hope you feel better tomorrow. I love the smell of gorse. Our farmer neighbours in NZ were always spraying theirs which resulted in some heated discussions from the surrounding orchards and market gardeners. There is some broom growing around here, though.
Glad your phone is going @Hostafan1 What was the secret? How is your daughter today with baby Connor? How is your husband faring now?
@Pat E - Good evening!! I saw the cloud and thought it looked like the "dragon/dog" in "The Neverending Story". Stay cool!
Beautiful day here so I moved the gooseberry bush, which turned out to be two and they are in a semi-shaded place - hopefully not too hot during the summer.
I've not heard from my Daughter yet today, she's going home, so maybe "in transit" I put the phone in a dish of rice overnight in the " airing cupboard " and I just put the battery in and switched it back on. The date / time things has gone, but all the numbers are still there.
Did anyone watch Ronnie Spector at the BBC last night? What a voice! What a complete star! A real performer, not a Diva. Her performance at Glastonbury shows how current she remained. Really worth watching on iPlayer if you didn't see it.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Glad you got your phone working again @Hostafan1. I saw a croc in the clouds @Pat E, its head emerging on the left from a lagoon. I see there is a Wordle thread now. But I did say I would only mention it here if I got it in 3 or less. Today I got it in 3. Lazy day today. But am about to have a major turning everything upside down panic as the banking doobrie thingy isn't where I keep it and until I find it I can't log into my bank account. Have you tested for Covid @D0rdogne_Damsel? They are saying that Omicron (that sounds like a name for a word game too!) has cold-like symptoms. We got a call from SIL as before us another member of the family had visited them who rang them to say she had tested positive. But SIL & BIL both negative, as are we. Will test again tomorrow.

Have a fine day everyone.
