Good afternoon all and a Happy Birthday to @D0rdogne_Damsel  Is the medication kicking in today?

    @punkdoc  Thoughts.

@Busy-Lizzie   Thoughts for you too when there are problems such as plumbing and you are on your own -  it sounds as if the problem could be quite far from the house.

@floralies   I have an OH like that too!!

@Dovefromabove   Lots of stressful things seem to be happening in the UK with the cost of living going up and families  struggling.  Games like Wordle distract our thoughts for a while.

Overcast today but no wind and +3.5°C this early morning.  Downloaded an update onto my computer this morning - it took almost 2 hours of downloading, starting and restarting then I had to navigate my way around my icons - still the same but in a different presentation on my desktop.

I "intend" to hoe a bit of the garden today - the nettles are well through, I have plenty for a purin and plenty dried for tea.  They will surely grow back!

Not much on the agenda for today - except .... reading and viewing catchup.

    Have a fine day.

  • Hello all and thank you very much for the birthday wishes and get well wishes too.

I am afraid I'm with @punkdoc today, in fact at 2 am this morning I was nearly ready for  throwing myself out the window and ending it all, but it's not a very high house. 🙄 Suffered an awful claustrophobic, suffocating feeling in the darkness, think I had a panic attack...just so much pain.

Not much better today, just seems a bit better in daylight. I think basically 7 days home alone feeling ill has taken its toll. Doctor said 5 days I should feel better, that was on Friday....

Oh dear @D0rdogne_Damsel and @punkdoc , that doesn't sound good, do hope you both start feeling better soon. Birthday greetings anyway to DD.

Another cold but not frosty day, too cold for gardening for me though. Went for my usual walk but didn't meet anybody at all until I was very near the shops. That's quite unusual, normally meet at least half a dozen dog walkers. Perhaps they walked the dogs earlier and have gone back to work?

That sounds a really nasty injury @didyw, your poor friend, however will she manage?
She won't be able to even dress herself for a bit.

I actually made a cake yesterday, coffee and walnut sponge. OH says its great and is tucking in like billy-oh but I don't think I got it light enough. Sounds odd but I don't want to keep making cakes because we'll only eat them! Too many calories and too much fat for me to tolerate.

Oh @D0rdogne_Damsel that sounds awful I would have thought the medication would be kicking in by now. Don't hesitate to contact your GP if it's not improving.

I finished planted the round rose bed this afternoon.

The plumbers finished the bathroom. Bath looks nice but I can't use it as the pipe is still blocked. Man came at lunchtime, said he was too busy  and would come back tomorrow morning. Hope he does, a friend is coming to lunch and the odd job man is coming to put up curtain rails.

    Good evening.

Sorry to hear about DD and punk feeling so low.
@D0rdogne_Damsel - I think it’s reasonable to speak to your Dr if your pain isn’t better and you are struggling - might be a sign that you need some intravenous antibiotics. I hope you have a better night. Owe yourself a Birthday next month when you can enjoy it.

I’m blimming freezing tonight - had two cardigans on in work and only just warming up tonight (negative LFT). Leccy blanket and an early night for me.

    Take care all.

  • Hello @Pat E thank you for birthday wishes, don't worry you didn't miss a snazzy party. I am pleased to note the last lot of painkillers lasted  5 hours not 4, hence the late/ early mooching on here, hopefully the last lot which I'm waiting to kick in might last until morning. 🙂 So, good wishes are working, yes.
