Happy New Year Folks.  Welcome to Newbies.  I spent a quiet one last night at Secondborns.  Watched a couple of films, played games and watched the fireworks on TV.  Haven't done much today as I didn't sleep well last night so I've been relaxing.  Watching Skyfall at the moment.  Quite a few of the scenes at the beginning were filmed at Calis beach in Turkey where we go for our holidays.  One of our friends is in the bar scene with the scorpion, it was quite a surprise when we watched it at the cinema.  Noticed quite a few bulbs peaking through in the front garden today.  I'll be glad when I feel well enough to get back in the garden.  Mind you it will probably be freezing again by then.  I'm glad too about TB and Jo Lumley.  She really is as lovely as she appears on the TV.

Good morning Forkers.  We’ve got another hot day predicted (31) so I won’t be wandering around the garden apart from getting yesterday’s washing off the line. 🙄

Hubby has discovered another TV series which we’ve started to watch - “Unforgotten”.  We are enjoying it so far. The female lead is in another series which we’ve liked - Annika.

Lovely to see all the new people on line and great to see you back Liri.

The washing is in. I checked the rain gauge and yesterday’s storm brought 15mm.  👏

  • Morning @Hostafan1 and @Pat E. I wish I was able to stay asleep, new menu today, lots to organise and no idea how busy (or not) we might be. Have to be prepared.

Really hoping for a bit of quieter time in January so I can at least get the garden a bit straight before it takes off again.

Really nice to see lots of new people on here and returning favourites. I don't have time to post everyday, but I always try and dip oin and keep up, trickier some days than others when you all get really, really chatty.

Anyway, must go. Have a good day all.

You’re amazing DD. I don’t know where you get the energy to manage the restaurant and the rest of your life. I love seeing your progress.

Morning everyone and Happy New year to you all. I'm another one who only joins in when I have something to say but I love the humour and tolerance which permeates this thread. I too find the small talk difficult so forgive me for not contributing often.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️

Good to see you @Suesyn 😊 some of us have the gift of wittering on, ad infinitum, about nothing much … other folk save their ‘breath’ for comments of more substance … both are just as welcome here 🤗

We woke to a bright clear sky, then suddenly, out of nowhere, heavy rain was hammering on the westfacing window … now, just as suddenly, all is bright and sunny again … shame the heavy rain wasn’t enough to wash off the large dollop of seagull sh*t deposited right in the middle of the big picture window, totally out of reach of anyone but the window cleaner, who isn’t due for another 6 weeks … I shall try to regard it positively as evidence of the wide range of local wildlife 😃

Morning all.  Only just getting light this far west, but we make up for it by a later sunset - suits me, as an Owl rather than a Lark, with more time for gardening...

Hello @Suesyn, @D0rdogne_Damsel, @Pat E & @Hostafan1.  Hope today is a good one for you and for those posting later.   :)
