Morning @PatE. Is 'surly' a cross between syrup and jelly? Could prove interesting! Hope you and hubby are well and have some nice bright sunshine to keep you in good spirits. It is still dark here so no idea what the coming day will be like. Just wish it wasn't so cold but at least it is staying dry. I love seeing your cloud pictures please keep them coming when you can. Off now to see if I can grab another couple of hour's sleep before daylight. Good morning to all as and when you arrive. :)

    Morning all.
That's a lovely picture Pat. I see a newts head in the dark cloud.
What at the trees on the hills in the distance do you know. They don't look like the swathes of boring conifers that a good chunk of Scotland is clothed in, much needed timber though it is.

All our trees are various eucalyptus.  It’s just native bushland, Uff.😁

Anna, I’m glad you are enjoying our local scenes. I realise that it’s very different from yours. The back part of our hundred acres is the same, just Eucs with some Acacia and a few other shrubby stuff.

  • Morning all,
Up early as pain relief has run out so awake with pain. Having breakfast so I can take the relief. I daren't really say it, but the pain is not as bad as yesterday, where yesterday (and the 4 previous days it was 10/10, maybe today it's 8. Promising.

I don know much about what type of trees grow where you live Pat so it's interesting to hear you speak of them.

I'm pleased you're feeling a little better DD, even though it's only a little you're on the right road.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️

It’s 4C and overcast here this morning.

Love the folds in those hills @Pat E 😊

Fingers crossed 🤞 for continued improvement @D0rdogne_Damsel

Hope @AnnaB managed to doze a bit longer.

I must say that after nearly 8 years of retirement I’m getting the hang of opening my eyes, looking at the clock, and closing them again and snuggling down for another half hour or so … 😴

I used to open my eyes and get out of bed in the same movement all bright eyed and ready to leap into the car and head for work …

I suppose that was a hangover from getting up and feeding the animals and milking the goats back when we had the smallholding …

I used to love it when a robin would come into the milking area and take grain from the bowl the goat was feeding from as I milked her. 😊

  • Morning everyone,  feel quite virtuous today.  I put 2 new nest boxes up yesterday,  and have one more to go.  The men came to do the French drain, yesterday but I didn't get enough gravel so they are coming back on Tuesday to finish it.  I have a car full of bags of clay to take to the dump today.  It's always amazing how much comes out of a relatively small hole.
At least the new tree is planted.
