Wow was a busy day, my op, hubby had a follow up cancer scan and…… we signed for a car! Can’t believe after all this time we have finally decided to get our own car. It is an electric on long duration rental which is fairly normal here.
glad you are feeling a bit better Busy Lizzie.

Busy day here as well. Very frosty but with a lot of fog first thing, rather odd. I put my new ice gripper thingies on my trainers to try them out - seem to work but rather noisy on the road! People will certainly know when I'm walking behind them. There was a notice on the wooden bridge that it was going to be closed for 3 days for replacement planks. Rather a nuisance as I'll have to walk the long way round. I then went for a much needed back and shoulder massage and met my friend afterwards for a very enjoyable lunch and chat at a local GC. I bought a sickle, mainly to cut nettles down. Just watched the Digging for Britain programme, really fascinating and took me back to my student days when I joined a dig for a couple of weeks. Glad you enjoyed your day with your daughter @Busy-Lizzie and that the stomach ache has disappeared. Good news that you had your ear op @Jacquimcmahon , I remember well the sheer noise volume when I had mine done. Be interesting to hear what you think about your new electric car. OH's nephew has just texted to say he can come over to mend my kitchen cupboards - tomorrow! Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Better have a tidy up then.
How lovely to spend time with your daughter in that way @Busy-Lizzie. When we first moved to this house 20 years ago my mum came to visit and helped me get all the hideous 'old lady pink' tiles off the bathroom walls. I cherish that memory as we lost her a few years later. Have you gone for an electric car because it's quieter @Jacquimcmahon? Lovely day today so we went visiting to a)give the car a little run out and b)deliver their Christmas presents to my dear SIL and BIL. And for me to get advice on trading in the car I hate for a car I will love. Within moments of arriving back home BIL sent a link to a car that would suit me better. Now I just need to get all the details (eg mileage, service history) of the car I hate together to see how much I can get for it when traded in. The car (a Ford Focus - which is what I had before) is being advertised as an ideal first car. I wonder if that would equate to a final last car? I can see my next step as being giving up driving altogether. Hope you managed to satisfy your cake craving @D0rdogne_Damsel. And that you get over your cold in time for your skiing trip.
This photo was taken on the way home yesterday. It’s looking towards Canberra in the distance. That paler blue peak slightly right of centre is just south of the city.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Not sure what I see in those clouds @Pat E … I shall keep looking …

Pretty photo Pat E, could do with some blue skies here, foggy again this morning, any photos I took would show about 5 feet ahead of me!
@didyw We rent an electric car currently by the hour, just when we need it and absolutely love it. The autonomy is enough for our needs (between 300 & 400kilometers) depending on driving conditions and temperatures. We get it to stretch to over 5000 in the summer if hilly terrain as it creates more energy every time you go downhill. It’s quiet, it’s ecological and as more people here are realizing the advantages of the hourly rental we have started to experience availability issues, so we did the calculations and with the eco discounts available we are at a point where having our own is not too much more than our monthly budget… so all in the benefits of having our own won out. Renault Zoe, nicely equipped and a lovely shade of Red!😎

Still feeling awful, sinuses particularly bad this morning. I have to go into work though as my other chef is as bad as me, so no option. Not often I hope that it will be a quiet day.
I did do ok in Wordle this morning though, so brain still working.
