Hello all …. it’s been a busy morning … GP for blood test early morning then lots of hsewk. Now for a sit down and a ☕️
I love the wheat tradition Ante … I have friends who do that. 😊

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Ante your bowls of wheat look lovely.  Enjoy planting and I hope all goes well.  Hazel enjoy wearing your Pom Pom hat.  It’ll keep you warm and cosy.  Quite a rainy day today but not too cold although I’m wrapped up.  LB good to hear Lily enjoys her cosy place by the radiator.  Lily I hope you managed to get what you needed this morning.  Chive I hope you’ve had a good day with the little people.  Topbird yes you must keep your lovely camper van serviced so you can continue with your trips away.

Afternoon everyone. Today's tick list completed - thank goodness. It has been dreich all day here so definitely no gardening Busy and Hazel I hope that you haven't overdone it with the unmentionables.
Thank you Ante for reminding us how lovely the winter wheat can look.
I think I might get some knitting out now and get my brain rested before TV Quiz Night tonight.
Hope things are fine with Biglad and Yvie.

I didn't go shopping, found a load of wrapping paper. I really should do some more unpacking. Wish I was good at putting screws in stone walls, waiting for OH, then I'll be able to hang some pictures.

I finished my Christmas cards and walked to the next village to post them, not very far. It's been a lovely sunny day. The church was open and there was a big crib draped with flashing tree lights and Christmas Carols playing rather tinnily. They had decorated around the church outside with a model village and little people and decorations. There were Christmas trees with big shiny ribbons on them up the main street. It's a very small village, wish it had a baker. No village shop but there is a shop that sells lawnmowers and another place that sells second hand tractors.

The house is cleaner than it was.

  • Afternoon everyone, Aww those bowls of wheat look lovely @Ante30 thank you for the one for our gardens.
I joined Hazel and Busy this afternoon doing unmentionables too.   Went to the shops this morning and was quite successful with getting bits and bobs needed for little gifts. One of the DILS  asked for a voucher for a pamper day and got that too. Also got a few metres of ribbon for putting round the top of a vase and some thinner ribbon for some  glass baubles.
@Ladybird4 how are you getting on with LOD knitting 😉
@Busy-Lizzie the church lights and decorations sound lovely.
@Songbird-1 sounds like you had a good shopping day too.
Hope everyone has had a lovely day.

Well that is my brain fried for another week. Love quiz night!  Busy, your description of the village made me smile - no bakery but very handy if you need a lawnmower or tractor. Glad that you found your wrapping paper - you won't need to worry about that when you go for your new tyres tomorrow.
SGL, the LOD knitting is coming along. Now I've got cards out of the way and dekkies up I can push on with them.
Ante your biscuits look very yummy. I can almost smell them from here! Think I'll have some hot chocolate now.
Hazel, the word has got out in the birdie world. So glad they are delighting you as they do me. I had to fill my feeders today and I must order some more food tomorrow.
I am going to sign out for tonight so sweet dreams everyone and I'll see you in the morning.

Hazel, I've recorded "You Don't Know Me", but I'm not sure when I'll watch it. I'm still watching things that recorded while I was away, like Carol Klein. Such a shame that they don't do Nativity plays in France, I won't see my grandchildren in one. Well done 23.

    Goodnight all.

Evening everyone sorry for being so late in today, trying to catch up on lots of Christmas preparations,
LB Hope all goes well with the sale of handy brothers home, sounds like everything is in place ready to proceed in the New Year. Hope you have a good nights rest,
Rubee I hope you’re finished with having a sort out, so satisfying to clear out & tidy those cupboards and drawers,
SGL I think you were most sensible to avoid shopping last week while under the weather, hope you found all that you needed to get today,
Hazel Those birds are spreading the word on your feeders, you’ve got a good few regulars now. Pom Pom hat sounds nice & cosy, just what’s needed in the cold. Well done to 23 and his performance in the nativity, must have been wonderful for you to watch him 🤗
Ante Here’s hoping the harvest wheat grows strong and signals a good harvest next year for your business. Thank you for sowing a bowl for our gardens that’s very kind, lovely biscuits 🍪
Topbird Hope you have a good trip to Yorkshire Wednesday, I hope MIL
