Done the shopping. Luckily there was a wicker log basket left to fill with goodies for Son's hamper. I lined it with a towel so the basket and towel are pressies too.
OH's Bosch dishwasher wouldn't start the other day. Man came, it wasn't the dishwasher, it was a faulty connection in the socket. The socket had a crack in it and is under the work surface. Wonder if the kitchen fitters did it, but that was nearly 3 years ago.
I am feeling better, thanks, @star gaze lily, it's just a common cold.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello all ... glad you're feeling ok @Busy-Lizzie and glad the washing machine problems have been resolved ...
I've had a busy morning ... mainly laundry, making a ragu for supper and makiing my first ever vegan chocolate cake for son's birthday ... his houseshare person is a vegan so I thought if I made a vegan cake he can offer her a slice ... it smells good ... the icing involves cocoa, peanut butter and maple syrup ... I'll do that tomorrow ...
This afternoon I start wrapping presents ........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
It was busy at the sm this morning. Visited mum and dad and then back and relieved Alfie has visited the loo as he was on his second day without so thankfully I don’t need to take him to the vets. Time for a cup of tea.
Hi folks, I've been out in the garden this morning planting tulip bulbs and getting a couple of roses into their pots, they have been heeled in for a few weeks now. I've tidied the terrace but the rest will have to wait. I've had my final blood tests and sent in my Covid test. I have to isolate now until my op on Sunday. I don't mind as it will give me time to wrap the rest of the presents and get the house in order as I wont be able to to much after the event. I'm just keeping everything crossed that it wont get cancelled. Those biscuits look yummy Ante. Glad you managed to get a new machine Songbird.
LB must be tired from cleaning the shed with her bestie.
I wrote this morning that I will probably avoid crowd at shopps. Well, I couldn't been more wrong. Every shop was packed, and to find a parking slot you need to be a magician. I don't understand that at all. On the other hand I find everything from my list, and I purchased a beautiful potted nordmann fir. I will be resting this evening, believe me I need it.
Good evening everyone. Yvie, it is so good to see you and fingers crossed all goes well with your op' on Sunday. Is this the gallstones op'? Sorry if I've got that wrong Yvie.
Busy, how nice to find a wicker basket suitable for your son's hamper. An excellent case of recycling there!
Ante, when I got to Bestie's we did look in the shed but the little sneak had been busy since last week and had sorted quite a lot out. There was a huge package sticking out of her porch. She had ordered a garden storage bin but when it had arrived it was broken so she was waititng for the delivery drivers to pick up the damaged one and deliver her replacement. When this arrived we unpacked it all to check that it was fine and I'm expecting to see it all built up next Thursday. That is our next Food Bank day so we will be making an early start - not so much a problem for me but Bestie is a night owl.
I am glad that despite all the mad crowds you managed to get your shopping completed and Nordmann firs are the very nicest of Christmas trees.
Feet up, lots of tea (or cocoa) and something easy to watch on TV now.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable

Yvie, I hope that everything goes well at Monday.

I'll also retire. It should be something on tv.
Good night and sweet dreams.
