Well I've been looking on line this evening at washing machines, as mine decided to give up the ghost this afternoon 😭😭 Fortunately it had finished the wash cycle, but gave up spinning. I thought it had finished the complete cycle, but when i opened the door, the clothes were rather soggy. Tried to give it another spin, but nothing 🤷♀️🤦♀️ Thankfully it had drained all the water away though. My lovely friend round the corner let me spin the wet clothes in her machine. It was very heavy carrying the bag of wet washing round though 😂 I'm off in the morning to look at new ones, keep everything crossed for me I can get one before Christmas! I'll say night night to you all, sleep well and sweet dreams everyone
I hope you find a new washing machine and have it installed double quick Lily .Its always a nuisance when your washer gives up the ghost .Remember the days when we washed by hand ? I am probably the only one who does .You are probably too young to remember .Oh Busy you can do without that .I hope you have plenty of supplies in so that you don’t have to go out until you are feeling better .keep safe everyone .Night night .
Evening All, long day today though I won’t be up for much longer 🥱 LB Hope you feel refreshed after a nights sleep, hopefully tomorrow the weather will be clear for you too, Debs All of those lamb recipes sound good I’m sure it’ll be delicious however you cook it. Film suggestions I wouldn’t know what to advise, but how about a musical to watch? Hazel Yes the children break up at the end of this week 👍 I hope your daughter is feeling better now, SGL Oh no! can’t be without Lily’s TV, hope you find a suitable replacement that can be delivered quickly. Nice that your friend let you put your wet clothes through hers to spin them, these things don’t seem to happen in the summertime, Topbird Hope the journey goes well tomorrow and you have a lovely time with MIL, Biglad Hope you get those details straightened out without too much aggravation, Ante Pleased you had another good sunny day, hope you get another chance to do your lights tomorrow, Busy I hope you feel better tomorrow take care you’ve had such a lot going on, Hope you have a dry day tomorrow Bluebells, Rubee I remember mum hand washing and using a freestanding spin tub which I found terrifying as a child, but it must have helped her a great deal thinking back, That’s it for me, Goodnight everyone.
Topbird enjoy your trip to mil. She must be looking forward to your visit. Wishing you a safe journey and some lovely scenery on the way. Busy I do hope you have something in for your cold. Have a good nights rest. Have you an inhaler mug to put some boiled water onto a pinch of salt and clear your tubes. Lily how frustrating for you whilst doing your washing. I hope you find something you like. When Rubee had her washer delivered she used it and it shook around so much it cut up the Lino making a loud noise. They’d left something attached, probably for safe transit, in addition to the packaging. Rubee managed to get the washer replaced, but I just thought I’d make you aware just in case. Alfie’s been choking so I’ll have to stay up to keep massaging his throat for it to clear. Luckily, I could hear him just as I was drying my hair. I’ll make a cup of tea.
Good morning all not read back but just popped in to say thanks to @Dovefromabove for the recipe. It looks delicious so will try that. I have some soft eating dried apricots and I think the honey will be the magic ingredient. I wanted something sweet as I like the contrast and was thinking red currant but I reckon honey will be better.
I am thinking maybe an old James Bond film or two, easy to watch. Oh the joys of family at Christmas I am trying to be positive and not hanker too much for the quiet Christmas Day with fiancé I had planned and was so looking forward to
Eeek SGL, what a time for Lily's TV to pack up. I hope that you get sorted soon. I've sent you a pm with info about a great place to buy a replacement.
RosieBB, sorry to hear Alfie is having a bit of a struggle again. Hope he is better now.
Busy, it looks as though you are suffering from the same bug many on here have had over the last few weeks. Keep warm and well dosed. Did you have to hang around in the cold whilst your front tyres were being replaced? If so, that won't have helped.

Nose is still bunged up but I feel better than I did last night. It's just a cold.
LB, it was quite mild, 12° yesterday, and sunny. The garage reception room where you wait has glass windows all round, like a big sun room. I got so hot I had to walk outside for a bit. Must be awful in the summer. The receptionist opened the front door.
SG Lily I hop you manage to get a new washing machine installed quickly. What a nuisance. I remember my mother boiling nappies in a copper and pulling them out with wooden tongs. She had a mangle. When I was 3 I'd sit on the scullery floor with a bowl of soapy water and wash Daddy's socks. She did get a twin tub eventually. When I had my first baby my mother bought me a washing machine.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Rosie, I hope that Alfie is better now and that you managed to sleep a bit.
LB, enjoy watching Amazing hotels. This hotel is in Istria region, near Italy. Quite popular region among visitors from UK.
First my tea, then school. It's nice outside, it might be like yesterday. I finally decide to go tomorrow to purchase my tree. I'll also do last shopping before Christmas.
Gosh Busy, you just brought back a memory there. I remember my great aunts boiling things (probably nappies!) and using those big wooden tongs you've described. They also had a mangle that I was terrified of as I used to imagine my fingers being caught in it and coming out 4 times their normal size. I'm glad you didn't get chilled yesterday. Look after yourself today.
Ante, enjoy your day - and your plan for Christmas tree shopping tomorrow.
