Hosta, you’ve made me laugh. My Hubby has a night like that every night since he got the cancer and had treatment. He does have an afternoon nap to make up for it a bit.
Afternoon all, Beautifully sunny and calm this morning, quite nice to be out and not as cold as predicted. Went up to the Crematorium Chapel to pay my respects to my dear Dad (died 1993) and take some of my roses which were still blooming in my garden, the latest I think they've ever been. (red Royal William and white Winchester Cathedral). Then we treated ourselves to coffee and cake at the nearby Hilliers GC who have a fantastic view across to the Mendips, very pleasant in the sunshine. Managed to resist the temptation to buy anything. When we got back, I tidied up the porch and reinstated the plastic shelving unit, it's too useful to throw out after all. Swept up more leaves, hopefully just one more week of doing so after the storm bought most of them down.
Good news @floralies and glad you're feeling better @Pat E.
I always knew French theatre was bad (too melodramatic and not funny humour) but now it seems it's dangerous too. Our farmer neighbours went on Friday but she tripped on the way in - wrist broken in two places and an evening spent at A&E instead. Hope it heals fast for all that festive cooking coming up. I've baked her a marmalade and almond cake as she's not a chocaholic and also made a cheese and walnut loaf as he's diabetic.
Other than that lots of cleaning this am and some sewing this pm. Xmas crafty stuff.
It's still very cold and grey but the wind has calmed a lot and it's still dry. Stupid knee has clamed down but I'm being careful still.
GCs round here don't have cafés. I think they're missing a trick as some do sell fancy foodstuffs. Not my problem tho. I'm so fed up with the lack of choice and availability of interesting plants that should do well here that I'm sowing as much as I can and growing it on.
Take care everyone.

I agree with you about French GCs and the lack of cafes @Obelixx. They usually shut for two hours at lunch time. English GCs are great for meeting friends in the cafe.
We had a tiny snow fall this morning but not enough to whiten the ground.
I’ve written my Christmas letter. I want to send all my cards to English friends and relations before I go back to France on Saturday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
MIL has been without power since Friday night, not good for an 87 year old who is housebound. Luckily BIL got up last night, but they are struggling, no shops open etc.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Oh dear @punkdoc is she without heating? The power companies are supposed to get her some sort of heating as an emergency … gas cylinder type or something.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday everyone.

I can't remember who mentioned it earlier this week.
