Nah …. Sting’s never been my type … especially since a friend and colleague was telling about when he and his kid brothers lived in a children’s home in the same street as Sting lived. If they saw him come past they would run after him and call to him to stop and talk to them, but he would run away all the way to his gate and slam it shut.  As my friend said, “We we’re only kids and we were his neighbours … all he had to do was stop and speak to us … but he never would.”

Hosta,I understand it's due to "tantric Sex"!!
  • Not nice eyes, blondes not my type (except Robert Redford (strawberry) in his youth)...
What was  the lovely film with him in  Naval Uniform and Barbara Streisand?

@Dovefromabove his parents probably told him not to have anything to do with "those boys" from the home.  If he was sub teen he'd have still been obeying them which seems fair enough to me.  Not that I have much interest in Sting now he's gone all Tantric and thinks he can do Jazz.

I think Robert Redford is wonderful.  Loved him in Downhill Racer, Butch Cassidy, The Sting, The Way We Were, Out of Africa, Indecent Proposal..... and also his commentary as part of the storyline in A River Runs Through It.   Superb.

Have had a cracking day today - all day patch workshop and everyone happy with teh tutorial I'd prepared.  Lots of good chat with the new members getting to know the older ones over apéro and lunch.   Then on to La Roche for mosaic class at 6pm.  I have finished my "hen that laid the golden egg" (French version of Aesop's faibles) just need to do the background now.  Home to pumpkin curry cooked by Possum.   Flopping on the sofa now.

I was wondering about daughter 2 @Busy-Lizzie after all the family gadding the other 3 offspring organised for your brthday.   Good luck with that one.

@D0rdogne_Damsel - yes, you need some me time and some fun.

@punkdoc - good to see you.  Chin up and look for the bright side.  How are the new neighbours coming along?

@Allotment Boy - enjoy Giverney.  Still haven't made it there but it's on my list.

Noooo @Obelixx he was an adult … at that time he was already becoming well-known as the singer in Police. My friend was about 10 or 11 and the oldest of the three brothers. Sting was in his late twenties at the time and living just a few doors up the road. As an experienced teacher he shouldn’t have run away from three young boys.

OK.  As I thought then, not a nice chap and too full of himself.
