    @Ergates, autumn sadness probably, I always feel a bit depressed and down in October, don't like the thought of winter approaching, dark nights and hate being cold. Lots of people feel the same apparently. Frequent prescriptions of small regular treats, as much sunshine as still shines and long walks are what I do. Oh and bramble pruning!

    That’s lovely @Hostafan1 🏆 unusually for us we didn’t have the radio on just then.

    Evening all.

    So many of you needing a hug 😞. Why are hugs so good? One of my team mates can’t stand personal affection like that so if she is upset we just tap her on the arm with a pen.

    I was doing some teaching the other day and we were chatting and introducing ourselves before we started then one of them started hovering her hand over my arm… “It’s like Reiki. I do it for the nurses to relax them” they said. No warning. No consent.

    I did not feel relaxed 😅

    Well I hope you can all find a way to relax, chill or feel better. Tonight, mine will be some homemade apple cake, with my own apples. No ice cream left though so (and don’t judge me) it will be with cold custard 😋

    Outdoor thermometer showed 5° this morning.

    I have finished my Jewel bed. Planted daffodils, tulips and alliums in it too and edged it with the half moon edger.

  • After today's challenging experience, full faced Doc appointment (tel appt Fri); am now in the system and dreading it (marvellous, thorough consultation with GP) Have had approx 3 appointments in last 20 years, all due to sporting injuries. Now will have full blood test, urine test, full spine MRI and CT scan...how can anyone criticise the NHS? Onwards and upwards, spent lovely afternoon planting my new beds;
    Box balls, cones, grasses, salvias, virbenum, Euphorbia Silver Swan, Santolina, Hosta Blue Mouse Ears Loropetalum Chinese Fire Dance, Heuchera, Angels Wings, Azaleas and my favourites Robinia Lace Twisty Babe and something I can't remember but is beautiful with bright pink berries. Bulbs to add, Delphs, Foxgloves, Aqualegias, VB, Sedum, Hebes, Lavender and Achillea.   What's the plant in my first pic?
