I eventually arrived, 6 hours journey. It poured all the way after Angoulême and Tom Tom took me by motorways, lorry spray, nearly 50€ tolls, 90kms longer than ordinary roads. Son said the normal roads way is much quicker.
The granddaughters have gone to bed, which is where I will be going soon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Glad you got there despite the awful journey @Busy-Lizzie …. Time to enjoy your weekend now.
Sucks that you’re feeling rough @AuntyRach hope tomorrow is a better day. Note to self: block out some days following booster. Today is the first day since my flu jab (last Saturday) that I haven’t felt like I am carrying tennis balls in my armpits 🎾. Yuck… maybe too much info 🤪
Good luck @Desi_in_London, whichever route you choose. I loved the course …. understand so much now that I didn’t even know I didn’t know !!
Happy October @David Matthews2 …. my birthday month, so obviously has a special place in my heart 🎃
Hoping for a good nights sleep tonight. Been disturbed by recent events. My littlest Chicklet has just moved to Clapham.
And, presented with a police warrant, there is no doubt in my mind that I would have got into that car. And, more importantly, so would have my girls. Its ingrained into us that if you have done nothing wrong then go quietly and it will all get sorted out, making a fuss will only end up worse.
Now it’s time for a rethink, and a resetting of the expectations of all I thought was there to protect us. Makes me sad and scared in equal measure 😢😢😢. An unwelcome and uninvited watershed moment.
Absolutely @chicky - any girl would have got into that van if shown a warrant card and handcuffed. It really is time Cressida Dick resigned. And the Home Secretary. Does anyone watch Corrie? I just see Pritti Patel when I look at Sabine. Night night all.
Morning everyone. We’ve got another cloudy start to the day here. Might have a bit of rain in it, but will have to see. After getting 18mm three days ago, then 3mm and then this morning 2mm, I’m wondering if its all gone now. Makes it hard to decide on laundry days. 🙄
@Pat E After 16 years, the German leader will enjoy her retirement and guess what, she will live in her little house in the countryside in the NE of Germany, and spend time in her garden. She feels that growing plants and veggies is more important to her, she said recently I have nothing to do in my little garden. The next job will be later October with cutting back Rudbeckia and Echinacea. That's all. Can't wait for spring.
It must be scary for all mothers like you with daughters in that age group @chicky, but I think maybe it always was. The media reports so much more nowadays than they used to. My first OH was very nervous about our daughters going out when they were in their late teens and early 20s, but, of course when they went off to Uni there was nothing much he could do about it.
I don't think it's time Cressida Dick resigned. Whoever was in her position wouldn't be able to stop that sort of evilness. People have been writing police thrillers about it for a long time and look at Line of Duty.
I hope Angela Merkel enjoys her retirement and her garden. I wonder how big it is.

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ if id known you were around yiu could’ve shared my hotel ‘full English’ @punkdoc …. it was ginormous…. And very good indeed … with fried bread 😋

Damp and miserable.
Managed to send Moira away with a friend for the w/e, thought she needed to get away from me for a while.

@punkdoc you sound really low. What do you have planned today? Be kind to yourself if you can.
