I really need a slice of that, it looks gorgeous.
It’s no good of me making anything with almonds,  my other half hates it.
when he was a little boy his older brothers made him drink almond essence, 😱

Oh, didyw, I do so want a slice of that tart! Actually I reckon could eat the whole thing, no trouble. There was a fantastic chocolate cake on here a couple of days ago that I didn’t get round to complimenting whoever had made it.
Mouth watering very badly now, better go and cook lunch!
  • Just a quick hello from here, we are doing something  novel. We are doing Sunday lunch for older daughter and family's-Roast Lamb  and all the usual extras. Pear crumble for pud but it has to be wheat & dairy free so I might have some of the Apple one already in the fridge.
Yesterday's rain & wind finally stopped in the early hours,  sunny here now.
    AB Still learning

  • I need to kick myself up the bum to get out in the garden. Seem to have missed the best of the weather while stuck at a kids party. Clouded over now so I suspect it'll be hokey cokey gardening between showers.

I’m not even bothering to go out there again, seems this is in for the day.

Afternoon all. Back home after a wet weekend in Wales for a wedding. Comment of the night from a merry Welshman "is that a Scottish kilt?". I was in my full shortbread tin outfit, kilt, wee badger handbag, Bonnie Prince Charlie jacket, stout brogues and my sgian dubh tucked into my sock - all ready for my guest appearance at the White Heather Club.
No fuel at any services on the M4 either way but filled up in Cardiff before driving back this morning - no queue, choice of pumps and cheaper than back home. A long way to go for petrol though. Got home just in time for a short thunderstorm.

The wind has got up again, but I elected to do the "dark" wash,it will always be cheaper to wash than dry. Forecast rain for the next week. A quick cold wash shouldn't use much electricity
