@sam bevington muscle weakness and fatigue can be side effects of Covid. You should see a physiotherapist for exercises to help strengthen your leg muscles.

I’ve never been on this forum before but it’s the middle of the night and, unusually, I’m wide awake. In a few hours’ time it will be Italian class so I have been rehearsing in my head things I might say. I am undecided about mentioning what is really worrying me - my cat. The poor thing had infected tissue cut from his gum on Friday. Despite such an invasive procedure (and my wife quite recently had the same - a third of her tongue cut away) he is surprisingly chipper despite having to wear the protective collar. At the moment he is asleep at the end of the bed. Histology results come back on Thursday or Friday and the vet fears the worst. If, as is very likely, it is cancer the prognosis is very poor.

The grief of losing a pet is so raw - but time is a healer. He has certainly had a fine life with us: beating the bounds, sleeping in the summerhouse or conservatory, fed on demand.

    Difficult times for you, BenCotto.
Hold onto the sentiments in your last paragraph,  they will help I'm sure.
I hope you can get some sleep.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
@sam bevington get yourself a GP appointment … explain the symptoms, don’t hide anything … as @punkdoc says there’s a range of things it might be … my legs became weak when my thyroid packed up 20+ years ago … my friend’s legs became weak because a trapped nerve … but you won’t start getting better until they can check you out and diagnose the problem, so you  make that call today … if it helps you can take us with you in your pocket or handbag (we’re actually very small, who knew? 😉) humbugs or Polos in your pocket are an added bonus, even if covered with fluff 😆 Keep us informed ((hugs))

@BenCotto … difficult times ((hugs)) but as @woodgreen has said, focus on the good times if you can.  You’ve given your pet a fine life … he does not fear the future 😊 that’s something that only we do. 😞

Morning campers, beaten by Dove. Have done the dishwasher! Meeting up with oldest grandaughter and her mum today, haven't seen them for 5 years,as they live in Devon. Ironic there should be a bad fuel shortage here in the SE. Due to collect oldest son,hrs her Dad,he's got no fuel, hasn't been out for some time, his mental health is bad at the moment,he's back on the antidepressants, not sleeping. Won't be surprised if he doesn't come today. Been difficult for his daughter,BUT she now works in mental health,is 21 and has a bit more understanding of the situation. Weather is rubbish, but mild. Wish me luck folks!
  • Morning everyone,  heavy rain in the early hours, but bright start now. Need to get moving today, 2 days of relative inactivity, means I  don't sleep so well.

    Good morning all.

Dismal down here today, but we needed a drop of rain desperately and even with what we have had, I don't think it will be enough.

@SamBevington  funnily enough, I have the same symptoms.  Sporty, moving all the time but getting "tottery" on the old pins.  My nurse neighbours said it is because of lack of exercise - I used to do Pilates and Bodypump 3 times a week.  Then Covid shut all that down.  I get excited and do gym with the TV but that doesn't last long!!  I walk with the dog at least 30 minutes but am "glad" to be home to flop on the couch!!  I haven't fallen over but sometimes I feel like I have done an hour's worth of gym!!  Worth getting it checked out, at least for your peace of mind.

@BenCotto  Our animals are precious and we feel for them.  I do hope the outcome is positive.  Quanti anni ha il gatto?

    Have a decent Monday.

@tui34, your question made me smile as it brought back memories of my dear friend and first Italian teacher Pino who died a year ago. As a teenager in southern Italy he asked a young female tourist how old she was and he said he and his friends could not stop giggling when she replied ‘Ho seidici ani’ instead of ‘anni’. What young boy shooting the breeze with his friends is not going to start smirking when a girl they fancy tells them she has sixteen bottoms!

Rollo, too, is 16 or so we think as he came to us from the animal shelter aged “about” 9.

Semi related, on 15:1 Anne Robinson asked the question ‘Which A in the human body is an organ with no discernible function?’

    Contestant, “Err ... arse?”
