Good morning Forkers. Happy anniversary @raisingirl
It's been very wet overnight but is now dry. Started sunny but is clouding over again and may dribble bit more today. No matter as I have patchwork homework to do and photograph for a tutorial.
I have no idea where the nearest defibrillator to us is @floralies but expect there'll be one in each community and sports hall now. I did a Red Cross first aid course about 15 years ago expecting to learn how to bandage up a sprained ankle or such for dance club members but no, started with suicidal slashed wrists, kitchen injuries, car crashes then heart attacks.
Yesterday I did learn how to do babies and toddlers but wasn't too impressed with the usefulness of a defibrillator tho I expect it's reassuring for some. Assuming I'm not on my own, I'll rely on someone else calling the medics and then do CPR till I drop myself. Have to say that having got down on my knees to do my 120 compressions to Staying Alive in my head my stupid knee has been throbbing. Not good. Have had toast and Ibuprofen for breakfast to head it off.
I put away my summery clothes at the weekend @Dovefromabove except for some cotton frocks I can still wear for dance class if I start off with a cardi.
Didn't notice FB being dead - I check it occasionally for local chat groups and news - and never do the other stuff.

Your supermarché services rotavators @Busy-Lizzie? That's brilliant! I must tell our W'rose .... maybe @hostafan could manage their garden machinery department

Our SM has a car and van servicing and repair department @Dovefromabove. The one in Olonne has a whole DIY shed. We take the rotavator, smaller mower and big strimmer to a chap in the nearest small town about 10 minutes away and he comes and he comes and fetches the sit on mower when it needs a service.

Beautiful day here after a wet night. I have eldest home from school with ear and headache from her nasty cold, but she's calpoled up and happy enough. Just sat in the garden to call my mum for a chat as we'd not caught up for a few weeks. Think I might get to do some actual gardening today! Loads of plants to move around and bulbs to start on.
Well, OH needed his wet weather gear to cycle down the road for his flu jab ... but then the sun came out so he called in at home and left his 'yellow legs' here before cycling up the road to work ... he says that if he gets wet on the way home it won't matter 'cos he'll be getting straight into the shower anyway.
There's a sausage and bean casserole in the slowcooker, it's got muscavado, smoked paprika and Worcestershire sauce in there as well as other tasty goodies). There's also a load of jeans in the machine ... that's the last of the holiday washing and I've sliced a red cabbage and sprinkled it with salt, ready to pickle this afternoon. Love pickled cabbage. I've also got a load of pickling onions to skin ... think I'll start them tomorrow.

Happy anniversary @raisingirl. I have never had to give chest compressions (thankfully). Our town made such a fuss when we got a defibrillator for the centre of town, on the wall outside Boots - pics in the local paper and everything! I wonder if it has ever been used? What would also be useful would be if the knife sharpener chappie would come out of retirement. I have no idea how to get my secateurs, loppers etc sharpened, as well as scissors. I've tried myself with various implements but can't even get a good edge on a cutting knife.
We have an ancient sit on mower which is falling apart, the cutting gear is just hanging on. There used to be a chap not too far away who would come and service it but he retired and now there is no one. I think the time has come to buy a new one from one of the stores and have it delivered and the old one taken away, the nearest being 15/20 km away. I know what you mean @didyw about sharpening tools, if I do manage to get a good sharp edge OH will blunt it and gunge it up in no time and then wonders why they don't work!
@raisingirl. Happy anniversary, hope you have a lovely day together. @Dovefromabove. My dad used to grow red cabbage for pickling, 😍 Dry today , everywhere is very soggy, extreme rain last night. OH gone for a walk. must pot on those cabbage seedlings, hoe many times have I said that in the past week.🙂

It's been raining. No bulb planting today but I must go to the SM and pick up the rotavator which has been serviced.
