Hi everyone, heavy rain in the early hours agin here. Very wet start to the day. Went to a GC , got some pot mums and a few more winter pansies. Somehow a 3 kg bag of daffodil bulbs got into our trolley, I must be mad we don't have room for that many so I will end up having to plant most of them at SD & sil's garden . Sorry to hear you are having problems @punkdoc.
Afternoon all, we must have had torrential rain overnight but fortunately we both slept through it. The brook is high and the lane still flooded but worse than yesterday(okay with wellies). Managed a bit of gardening after lunch in between heavy showers. Put large sheets of cardboard on veg beds, cut off asparagus fronds, cut back climbing rose which was waving over the shed roof and tidied the strawberry bed. Now having a cuppa. Stourhead should look magical @Chicky, if a bit soggy today. It's a long while since I climbed Glastonbury, couldn't manage it now.
Keep safe folks, there's more of the wet stuff to come.
Afternoon all. Hope those of you in the wet bits don't get flooded. Hope your flare up calms down @punkdoc. I'm just about to put my feet up and watch some nonsense on Netflix until Strictly comes on, having been hunched over my laptop since yesterday morning, confirming all the pitches to all the traders who want to come to our Christmas Market. Have had to disappoint some as there were more applications than we have spaces for. OH is cooking my favourite dinner tonight - Spinach Thing!
Spinach Thing sounds …. interesting 🤔. We’re spinach fans here but that’s not something we’ve come across @didyw We’re having pizza and salad … when OH wakes up. He’s home from work, showered and changed, had a cuppa and is now zonked on the sofa 🛋 😴

It's a layer of cooked spinach (seasoned, inc. nutmeg) on the bottom of a casserole dish topped with a tomato/onion/pepper/cheese sauce which is then baked. We have it with a jacket potato and butter beans with soy sauce @Dovefromabove. Delish! And our favourite chocolate for pudding!
Unless you layer it on the oatmeal base of a blue cheese (St Agur) walnut and pear cheesecake!
Possum is cooking tonight - Caribbean jerk chicken. That means I have a night off and can have a lovely hot shower and then potter with patchwork.
I've been in the polytunnel with Scruffy, keeping her company after giving her the daily dose of medicine, hosing down the central path to clean it again and then sowing seeds to go in the plastic covered shelves I bought from IKEA last spring. Can't remember who had that idea but it's brilliant as my treasures are thus a wee but warmer for autumn germination but also protected from marauding chooks on rainy days.
Never been to Glastonbury and not likely now unless I plan a visit to a friend in Portishead and try and get to Rosemoor too.

I had a smile today when I was hanging the clothes on the line. Half way up the hill one of our regular kangaroo visitors was lazing in the sun watching me at work. She is very interested in what I do out there. She has a Joey in her pouch which won’t be visible while she is lazing there and a half grown Joey not far from her, but I think it’s not visible either.
Lovely warm day. Hubby is planning on running the mower over the septic line, the grass is getting very long in that area. Snake season beginning. We are both very sharp-eyed outside now.

This struck a real chord with me (I found the third lockdown the hardest by far) …..so this is my thought for the day
