    Lots overnight.
I drive over a bridge every day and there's a  lorry parked on the bank which pulls out trees drifting down the river.
Today is the first time I've ever seen it burst its banks and the lorry was up to the top of its wheels in water.

Today the water was lapping at the doorstep of the house on the left  middle of this photo

We were supposed to have a dry day today, so OH has been outside cutting sheets of timber .... it wasn't quite as dry as they promised ... :|

     I've just googled the bridge
Apparently it was mentioned as being there in the 13th century with repairs in the 15th.

After last nights heavy rain, it’s been dry here all morning. We debated sweeping the leaves off the grass before or after lunch, and decided to do it before we ate. Just finished lunch and the rain started. Very pleased we got on it with it when we did.

I defrosted the freezer in the garage, so I've got some sort of "steak" to cook tonight.

That sounds a bit exciting, Hostafan. I hope it responds well to whatever cooking method you are planning. I still remember my first attempt, aged 17, at buying and cooking a steak. Chuck steak and a frying pan, not a good combination, aching jaw muscles for days afterwards.

    We're having roast chicken.

Lots of flood warnings for Devon today, hope my daughter's town will be okay. Her brother is down there, helping to sort some stuff for her. At least she lives on a hill now so no chance of being flooded out. Our local lane was flooded again so glad I wore wellies. I've reported it to the Council in the hope they will get the drain unblocked.

The label is missing from the front, mercifully the cooking instruction are in place on the back.
