Chicky, love the photo. I’ve got a Liriodendron, but it’s never very happy. It produces new leaves etc, but not flowers. It’s been there for about 20 years. 🙄. We are in a hard climate here, cold winters and not much rain.
Early start as off to big Friday markets n Beziers, flowers, fish, meat, cheeses and vegetables plus the usual clothes, hardware etc. Then onto get the third Covid jab. We didn't get it on Tuesday as when we fronted up, there was a queue out the door as it was a no-appointment vaccination station near us. Now we have an appointment, so will do the markets first. Oysters are on the menu tonight!!
@Chicky beautiful beautiful trees. The vineyards change colour here and some of the leaves are a deep blood red.
Someone has a naughty young dog there @Dovefromabove - best to shave the lot!! I agree with @Nanny Beach - pretty toxic stuff for dogs - and all that sugar!!
Rain forecast this weekend. Well, I'll let you know about that!!
A big bag of gravel has been delivered for the drive. OH had already bought 3 bags and a local handy man spread it, but it wasn't quite enough. Guess who will be spreading the latest bag? But I've just realised we don't have a shovel, only a small border spade. We'll go and buy one when we take the honeysuckle and rose prunings to the recycling.
Looks grey and windy out there.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning Forkers. We've had a storm at dawn and some noisy rain but just the odd shower now. Set to get wet again soon tho and pour down. Weekly SM run for me today as I was messing with friend's furniture revival yesterday. My favourite markets here are at Les Sables but have been out of bounds during lockdowns and are also 40 mins away so usually end up as a day out with lunch and that needs some time management these days as we seem to be busy.
Love those photos @chicky. My liriodendron is just a few years old now but has done well. Gorgeous leaf form and colour so happy to wait for flowers when it matures. Looking forward to flowers on the pawlownia too but it's still a youngster and happily producing massive leaves.
That dog just needs a close shave!
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Morning everyone, noisy rain in the early hours here too. It seems to be drying now. Interesting that some are seeing little sign of autumn. My Acers mostly turned colour 2-3 weeks ago, some have lost all their leaves already, but some are holding on. It's the same at Capel, so I don't think it's anything I have or have not done. Love the sound of that market @tui34.
Lovely photo @chicky and thank you, I am well. Just didn't want to post on here because I was so peeved at being heavily criticised by two posters when I ventured to express an opinion.
Don’t you stop posting, Lizzie27! I always look forward to hearing what you’ve been up to. I think sometimes people don’t read back what they’ve written, to check how it can be read by someone else. But not always. I’ve got a couple of contributors on ignore.
Rained a lot last night here, but dry and brighter this morning. I’m going to have to tackle the leaves on the grass.
