Bless you @SamBevington You've had some tough stuff to deal with.  No wonder you prefer not to get involved with doctors etc .... but we all care and will worry about you if you're poorly, so get yourself seen ... as I said, we'll all cram into your pocket and come with you and every time you feel a bit stressed just feel that lumpy pocket with a load of Forkers and humbugs in it.  ;)

So pleased you’ve got an appointment Sam, best Wishes for a good outcome.

Daniel still hasn’t got his COVID test result yet,  but I don’t think there’s much chance he’s escaped it .  His college ‘mummy’ contacted him today and offered help with anything he needed,  he asked her for an Ethernet cable because his WiFi is not to good.
yet to hear from his daddy.

  • @sam bevington that's enough to make anyone feel nervous of the gp. Do you have anyone you can take with you (other than in your pocket!)?

@BenCotto I sympathise, it is so hard, they are part of the family. Our old boy is 14 and definitely declining. I'm dreading the day too.
  • Pleased to hear you have an appointment Sam.

Thought I share these with you all. This is a view from our back bedroom window.

This was at 9 am this morning. Conifer trees are in garden 2 doors up.

The whine of chainsaws,  & the roar of the shredder - chipper has just stopped.  Not sure if they are coming back but the increased light is evident already.  Now if only ndn would let them do a crown lift on the silver birch.....

Bravo @SamBevington  You've made the first move. Hopefully as @Busy-Lizzie says, maybe some muscle strengthening exercises is all you need.

@D0rdogne_Damsel  Those cakes look scrumptious!!  This dismal weather makes me want to bake - trouble is, I eat it.  Chewy walnut and marmalade flapjacks from @Obelixx sound just the thing with a cup of tea on a wet afternoon.

    Hello @Lizzie27

I think most of us have had their fair share of spills at some point or other.  I tend to "clip" my big toe on something and go over.  Clumsy is my middle name.  I am learning now to slow down and be more stable on my feet and to hold onto something as I clamber around the garden.

    Pleasant evening to all.

    Hello all.
I'm back from Burgundy. Took a different route, shorter, more country roads. Tom Tom said it was half an hour longer than the motorway route that I came on but it was 25 minutes quicker and far nicer to drive. Still a long way, took 5hrs 25mins. Wasn't raining though.

I'm glad you have a doctor appointment @SamBevington, white coat syndrome can be a nuisance. Tell him/her everything don't hide anything.
My OH has white coat syndrome too. It has caused a lot of bother over his hip replacement. He won't say it hurts when it obviously does. It was wrongly diagnosed then his op was postponed last year because of Covid then the new date was postponed, 2nd July because his blood pressure shot up because of white coat syndrome. He had to see a cardiologist, who has given the go-ahead for the op but we are still waiting for a new date.

I'm sorry about your cat @BenCotto. I hope he pulls through and it isn't cancer. If it is then don't be afraid or feel guilty if the end has to be advanced by the vet, much better than have him suffer. So sad when a loved pet dies, they are part of the family.

I try to remember to take my phone when gardening. One problem though, coming in for the loo when the phone is in jeans back pocket! More that once I've just caught it before it fell in the loo.
