Is your OH. at Yandles @chicky, it's one of my favourite places, I could spend hours looking at the wood and admiring all the different grains and colours.
We buy their builders bags of off cuts for the wood burner and sometimes come across some lovely unusual bits.

Morning all. I love spinach and jacket spud but can't imagine them together, cheese/onion or baked beans here. Wet,wild, windy,no, not me! Forecast was rain for the next 4 days, got a couple of loads done. (Grandkids for a week) yesterday started off wet,by lunchtime glorious sun so mild. Took the dogs out half the dog walkers and folk we saw were wearing shorts. I had a short sleeve top, thin socks, neither of us needed a jacket. Course now the clocks have gone back, economy 7 ends at 7.30, not enough time to wash and dry the next load. Will have to revert to washing before bed. Put my second dressing gown on,my grandaughter was wearing, she has put chocolate in the pocket, which has melted, formed a thick solid blob in the fleece!

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
We’ve managed to sleep late so have totally lost that ‘extra’ hour 😆
@Nanny Beach you need a timer switch on the washing machine plug so you can set it to switch on before get up. It wouldn’t work for us as the washing machine plug is behind the washing machine … which plonker of an electrician thought that was a good idea?  Probably the one who used to live here and who refitted the kitchen. 🙄

    Good morning all.

We had pizza last night, but in a local pub.

I have to go back to France on Thursday to help Daughter 1 look after 6 grandchildren. Daughter 2 is in hospital.

Worrying time, OH is having more heart tests on Tuesday. I wanted to be with him.

Dove, firstly, you aren't meant to put items like washing machines on unattended. I remove the clothes straight away, fold them, trying to minimise ironing because of the hands. Many years ago we did have a timer, one time the machine shook so much it dislodged the concrete balancer, which smashed up the machine. Different machine (of course,) something burnt out,not causing a fire, but something that had to be replaced, can't remember what, something to do with a small amount of residuel current which passed through when there's a timer involved. I have had economy 7 for over 40 years, got used to doing all things electric during cheap rate. We have decided to go solar, will be weird not being ruled by the clock. However, just trying to respond to the quote yesterday,it says "which of these (2) phone numbers would you prefer to be contacted on for the survey" neither of them is ours,so we will have to ring THEM tomorrow

He is @Suesyn - he’s havIng a great time “turning” things …..bowls and a couple of sampler spindles so far.  It really is a great place - wish it was nearer.

Forecast is for the wild weather to blow over here soon, so I’m off to the Bishops Palace garden

Hope daughter No 1 is ok @Busy-Lizzie - sounds like a worrying time for you in lots of directions ☹️
  • Morning everyone,  I usually like to gain the hour by not changing the clocks till Morning at this time of year.  No point today as it's raining heavily, and set in for the morning.  The ground will be saturated so no chance of any gardening even if it stops.

Oh dear @Busy-Lizzie what a problem … I hope it’s nothing serious … are there no other family members who could step in? Although of course if it is serious you’d want to be closer …
