I agree @Nanny Beach ... I used to swear by Bosch, they rarely broke down and if they did they were repairable  ... now they're little better than any of the other makes and often the repairs are uneconomic.  They're certainly not worth the price premium.  I don't buy them any more.

We bought a Bosch electric mower, plastic rubbish. (First one was great, )turned it over,Bosch design made in China
  • Isn't nearly everything made in China theses days?  That's why Bojo and Co can claim we have decarbonised our economy so much.

Takes a great deal of shopping around but it is possible to find stuff not made in China. Replaced our old and trusty Bosch dishwasher with an IKEA own brand, made in Germany. The new Samsung fridge freezer was made in Poland , cant remember where the Samsung washing machine was made, but it definitely wasn’t China. We did manage to kit out the new kitchen without having to resort to anything made in China, but it did mean we had to move away from what used to be our preferred brands.
That'll teach them, except that I don’t suppose anyone at Bosch etc will ever know that I made my protest.

Same here.  10 and 12 year old Bosch machines still going strong but I will shop around when the need arises.  I tried to find some outdoor solar lights last year so I can see if I need to nip down to the polytunnel after dark.  Took forever to find ones not made in China and I now make my own new  Xmas decs for the tree from felt, beads and sequins cos the shiny, breakable baubles are all made in China now.

Afternoon. Very windy with some rain here. Hopefully it will keep the Halloween festivities indoors.

Hugs, cuppas and cake to those who need.

Messed-up my timings for dinner tonight as put oven on for slow roast pork and realised 3-4 hours is too long to wait, as we haven’t had much lunch and we’d want to eat earlier because of the clocks. Then I thought, I would just put chicken and baked spuds in, but it’s only 3:30 so too early for that.

    Windy here too.

    Thank you @Allotment Boy.

I have a Bosch washing machine and dishwasher in my French house and OH has Bosch in the Norfolk Cottage. I think both washing machines are over 10 years old, dare I say never any problems, or would that be tempting fate?

Just watched a "Universe" with Brian Cox. With everything being so enormous and so old it seems hard to believe that we have much to do with climate change. Until 6100BC England was attached to Europe. We were only hunter gatherers then. That last bit wasn't part of the programme, it was about discovering planets and searching for signs of life.
