Good morning Forkers. Started calm but getting a bit wild and windy out there now and rain expected but probably not as much as my young trees and shrubs would like. OH has nipped out to rake up all the stuff he cut from our mixed roadside hedge yesterday - brambles, ash, hawthorn, elder, dog rose...... One spiky thing attacked his nose yesterday so he'll be more careful today.
Worrying for you @Busy-Lizzie. Remind OH to mention his white coat syndrome. Hope he gets his appointment soon and that daughter 2 gets the help she needs. Has her OH not got family close by that can help too? It'll take a long time for her to recover I expect, at home or in care.
@Nanny Beach - have not had a tumble dryer since I gave one away in 1983 but we had a white meter in Belgium and always set off the washing machine and dishwasher at night until we got the PV panels and daytime was better.
@Dovefromabove Until this one, all our washing machines have a time delay button. Worth checking out next time you buy one.
I have some long-winded patch admin to do - requesting annual subsidy from the council and 13 pages of financial info to fill in - then some more seed sowing while I keep Scruffy company for a while as she's still in isolation but well enough to try and scarper at meds time and then some sewing as it'll be too wet for bulb planting.

@Obelixx yes our washing machine has a delay button ... we rarely use it as we don't have Economy 7 and now that I'm retired I can do the washing to fit in with my day. Back in the day when the house I lived in had Economy 7 it was handy to have a timer on the switch in the utility room, then we could load the washing the previous day and set the switch to come on in the wee small hours, particularly great for a hot nappy wash ... it was spun and ready to hang out first thing in the morning. As the utility room was in a single storey extension the sound of it chuntering away didn't disturb anyone.

Obelixx, my washing machine does have a time delay, but after all the recalls a few years ago,it's said you shouldn't leave washing machines or dryers on unattended, because of the fires that occurred. Assuming PV is solar electric, and not what myself (and probably Punkdoc )reckonise from those 2 letters. The tumble dryer is the last resort
Morning all, bright here at the moment and the radar says rain not likely to come our way anytime soon, which is a shame. Hugs to @Busy-Lizzie, a worrying time for you. How are you @punkdoc? Taking a good rest I hope. This clock change seems to throw me out more than the Spring one, I don't know why. Son and wife return today from a well earned holiday in Greece, they have had so much treatment and mental upset in the last year. Daughter is going to BIL's funeral tomorrow as I can't get there, she has taken a day off work and then on Tuesday has a second interview for a job which pays more than the minimum wage! Enjoy the rest of your day everyone whatever the weather throws at you!
Morning folks, woke up to torrential rain again but it's now sunny and breeze. Think it's too wet underfoot for any gardening although I had been planning to cut down more of my diseased box hedging. I realized last week that we only have a couple more green bin collections, I think they stop now at end of November so I need to get most of it done.
I feel for you @Busy-Lizzie, that must be so worrying. My daughter came quite close to having a breakdown early last year but thankfully now seems to be recovered. Hopefully the heart tests for OH are just an additional precaution and he's now close to having his op.
What a bother @Hostafan1, will your insurance cover it?

Just been over to the garage to get something from the freezer and it's NOT frozen. The whole contents will have to be dumped.
