    Good morning to you all!

Another fine day with temperatures of around 23°C25°C in the afternoon.

@D0rdogne_Damsel  It isn't unusual to have the change-of-season blues.  You may need something like good dark chocolate!!!   Get those happiness hormones going!!  You've just done "the season" and now the shortening days and paperwork to get done - who wouldn't feel low?

@floralies   I hope you haven't had any more nose bleeds after that cauterisation.  Bit odd that.

Cutting back the grapevines on the programme today, staining some shutters and some good reading.  Still waiting for a decent rainfall so that I can get into the rest of the garden to do some weeding, although plenty of sweeping up leaves could be done.

    Pleasant day everyone!

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    Slept like a log 🥱
A decision has been made here … OH is busy doing some work on the house this week and had limited time to help in the garden, so the rest of the bulbs (little narc. species type crocus and tulips) will go into pots for the terrace … they can be planted in the garden after they’ve flowered. I’ll use his Under Gardener services for taking down the beanpoles, removing squashes and prepping for the broad beans. Decision made. 👍

    Morning all.

Feeling sad for no special reason is a strange thing, @D0rdogne_Damsel sometimes happens to me too, but it passes. I find gardening usually sorts it but difficult when it's cold and wet. I hope you feel better soon.

Didn't come back here yesterday as Daughter 2 paid an unexpected visit. She was furious with me for selling the family home, haven't seen her since I moved house. I live nearer to her than before.

Hope to finish the jewel bed today.

I hope so @Dovefromabove, it's all been very upsetting.

Lucky you @Lizzie27, going to Chelsea. I've been so wrapped up in my OH's hip troubles I hadn't realised that your OH has got to the wheelchair stage. Is he waiting for a hip replacement too? I looked back at your profile to see your previous posts but an irritating thing about this site is that they only print the first 3 lines. I wish they showed the whole post.

When my OH got to the wheelchair stage he bought, online, a small battery driven buggy that come apart easily and he can put it in the car boot. Battery lasts about 15 miles. It's been great.

  • Morning everyone,  hope all those with troubles,  have a better time soon.  Number 1 job today is packing for our trip to France.  As mentioned this was originally meant to be May 2020. One of the trips is to Giverny , not sure how it will look at this time of year,  compared to May.

Take photos of Giverny @Allotment Boy - would also like to see what it looks like at this time of year!
Sorry to hear about your daughter @Busy-Lizzie - I only have one and always found it impossible to deal with her when she was cross with me.
I'm still researching plants to suggest for SIL (her OH). Great fun. What he then does with my advice is up to him.

@Allotment Boy there will still be a lot of colour in Giverny in October, asters, dahlias, rudbeckias, pelargoniums etc, like the recent Chelsea flower show! They work hard to provide planting through the seasons. Then there is the house and also paintings to see as well.
