@Omori For a day or so you will feel lethargic.. hope you recover soon.. seeing how people are suffering (almost on a daily basis), I would not mind taking 'x' number of boosters if need be..
Did they cancel your order or just delay it? My Beales order was delivered after about 3 weeks..

@Nollie I now feel that most of my roses was affected by thrips.. most of them had a leaf curling/ burning/ deformed buds.. it was so bad to the point that I lost almost all the buds in the affected plants.. Did not know I was dealing with thrips at that time.. recently I came across a video and it was exactly how my plants were affected as well.. :'(
Got 'Captain Jack- dead bug spray' and I hope it works.. removed most leaves from base of pots as well.. apparently thrip infestation is among the worse pests you can have for any plant.....
this time of the season we wont have any beneficial insects around, so I can spray and hope it works before spring..if anyone has any other ideas do let me know..

...such good looking bare roots, so exciting to receive... I've had roots with a rootball like that one from TCL before.. I also thought it must have been from a pot..

It is exciting yes! I thought that was a nice amount of canes to start off with on a climber. Am just hoping it's bendy enough for an arch as I'm not the most diligent carer of climbers.

Sometimes I plan so much stuff over winter (it being the best time to garden for me) that it's hard to see the fun in it but looking forward to spring already. I think I pine for yellow the most in the dark months.

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

@cooldoc I was supposed to get my TCL a month ago, but I’m going to be doing some travelling in a bit so won’t be able to receive them if they arrive while I’m gone. Loads of deliveries are late so I understand. They said they can ship it in the spring but by that point, I’d rather not be putting in loads of bare roots.

I sympathise @cooldoc, every known pest and disease seems to enjoy my roses. It’s hard to resist the temptation to spray but I’m still holding out.

Ooh, some lovely roses in your TCL order @Victoria Sponge, you always come up with an interesting selection.

  • I hope they are 'good old roses' @cooldoc and prove to be interesting @Nollie. Most of my choices are based on thinking I might like it and then hoping for the best😁

I didn't actually fulfil my rose requirement quota this winter, I left 3 spaces on the off chance Lens might ship next year or I might find them elsewhere and some other spaces that were too difficult to prepare and/or winter plant spending already went over budget😉

Now I've moved Countess of Wessex I need to find a super healthy, strong (nice) smelling rose that has a nice shape for front of border to sit next to my bench. That research can go on the Jan job list.
