Yesterday was windy here, also bin day. Lots of bins overturned and contents spilled all over the road and also blown into our front gardens. I had to spend quite some time bagging all the plastic bottles and paper from in between my flower pots and depositing them in the blue bin.
I have finished pruning all my roses and tying up all the climbing ones; took time off from work to do this. When is the right time to give the spring feed? Now or early March when the buds open? Usually I give the roses a handful of BFB; this year I am planning to add some farmyard manure too.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Beales used to do an extensive catalogue at one time, always a regular feature chez moi in those days.. I haven't had one in a long while though..

.. I wonder if somebody got rapped over the knuckles for releasing 'Elizabeth' a tad too soon..  I don't suppose many noticed, except for the most eagle eyed on 'ere, of which there seem to be quite a few..

  • Well it stopped raining, and even though the wind has got up we went out and planted the two Twice in a Blue Moon.  Now just to see if they like their positions. 🙂

Well I hope everyone is ok out there, dreadful day.. we had upto 80 mph winds at midday and most of the afternoon.. just easing off a touch..
Nerves frayed... I've noticed some of the trees leafing out ever so early..

  • I just logged in to see how everyone was doing in the storm in the south. We seem to have had a reprieve up here or else it passed over very early. A bit gusty but no worse than it has been for the last 3 storms. Hope everyone is ok.

It was ok here, not worse than other storms we had. One more to go on Sunday.
