    ... I would always heed local advice with gardening, which is why it's so difficult to recommend for those in other countries..  he gardens in southern U.S. where they feed excessively due to the amount of rainfall I think..  Spring and Summer feeding for garden roses is enough really..

    ..potted roses need extra but they are winding down too.. I don't think I've fed mine for a month and they won't be getting any more..

    Thanks for your guidance regarding feeding the roses @Marlorena.
    I have moved Susan Williams-Ellis rose to my 'to go' list. I very rarely throw away roses, so will offer it on free cycle. Someone else might appreciate it.

    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

    @Eustace
    ..what didn't you like about it?  too short a bloom time?  I think when I had it they only lasted a day or so, not sure..  I'm still imming and amming over The Country Parson, I have plenty of yellow roses now, and this is another... if it wasn't so darn thorny..

    oh gosh I've just seen some new posts above, they weren't there before... shame about the cane Mr VE... it happens.. lovely to see a Nelly Moser bloom..

    The flowers are short-lived and they drop all their petals in a drizzle or even in a gentle breeze. Can't even cut for a vase as it lasts for less than a day. I bought it for its pure white flowers. Also the growth is all very thin branches, not sturdy. So I am thinking of giving it away.

    Found a broken brother cadfael cluster of buds yesturday, but suspect the wind in this case probably had 4 legs and a tail ;) stuck it in a vase anyway!
