I fancied Jude. Would have bought one from the David Austin centre when we visited in summer but they didn't have one for sale. Only in their gardens....I'd left my spade at home!
https://en.rose.it/english-roses Is still sending Austins to the UK (or at least they were last year) and have all four of those @Marlorena mentioned in stock at present, plus some other oldies. I have a suspicion many EU suppliers are just running down old stock as they seem to be getting scarcer.
Lens Roses have agreed to send me a GdeF Standard, hurrah! Postage is a bit punishing but I’ve slipped in Stéphanie d’Ursel and Thisbe to make it worthwhile 😉.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Nollie ..thanks for that information about the Italian nursery... and delighted you're getting the Gde F standard at last.. it's been quite an effort..
@Mr. Vine Eye your cottage garden is coming along beautifully, lovely colour mixes..
@Omori Yes I know what you mean.. whoever buys 'Tam O'Shanter'? I've never seen it or know anyone that has it, yet it remains year after year... well, of course the patent hasn't run out yet.. I'm tempted to get one just for the heck of it..
@Marlorena blimey, ive got 3/4 of those recently, I feel like I need jude for completeness now! Crown princess Margaritte has been lovely for me, im delighted with it. Wonder why its being discontinued? Hopefully they hurry up and announce the new ones. Im guessing a red shade and a yellow tone one... Cpm last year (3y/o plant estimated as sat on nursery a year!)
I was thinking about LEH, there is no room of course. From looking at all the photos on here, it looks like a robust and healthy rose. Oh well.
There weren’t many photos from May, but an August one of Paul Neyron.
A poppy and peony, not roses but both can at times seem rose like. Does anyone else grow anything that is roselike? I planted some geums last year, with the hope of their little open simple roselike flowers being small but pretty. If they flower I will post a picture.
My Crown Princess Margareta has not done well for me but that’s not its fault. As a new bare-root it was dug up, chewed, and left out to dry for days before I noticed the dog-based carnage 😐 Add to that it’s in a crap location, yet still it has produced some gorgeous clusters. I think it’s a very worthwhile rose.
