Debs, I am sorry that you and your daughter are having more upset about the dress for the wedding that is almost here. Its the last thing that you all need.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
The United Utilities drilling and banging started just after 8.30. They're on our side of the street today so those barriers are now just outside our house. They didn't lean them on anything and did knock to ask if I wanted to move any cars that we'd need to use today. The flaming noise is still irritating though.
Wonder what the new NDNs make of the quiet, peaceful house they thought they'd moved into?Â
Hi folks.  Another one here who had a rubbish nights sleep. It must be catching. Glad 23 has a good birthday. Gabriel will be 3 next week.  I asked what he wanted for his birthday he said a green cake a green apple a green present and a green Christmas tree I detect a theme hereÂ
Love the pictures Hazel! I nipped up the lane to the post box and when I got back ln there was a mini power cut (I thought about you Hazel). By mini it was one of those when someone at the power sation must have switched the wrong switch off, realised the error and switched it straight back on again. It scuppered my TV and set off numerous house alarms in the lane. All seems back to normal but I did have the ear worm of the X Files theme tune kicking off in my head.
Yvie, don't you just love small people's responses! I am just a tad worried about his forward planning to the next big season though?

Hello all .... I'm afraid to say I slept in today .... now I'm busy waging war on the millions of spanish slugs I've found hiding under the hardy geraniums ... must dash ... they might escape ... have a good day folks ............Â

I've done watering and cutting off of the huge courgettes. The round ones taste really nice and sweet and are still tender. I've just made a big pan full of soup with one and potatoes, onions and mint. Lunch for several days.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
LB, Rubee and Lily.  I went back to bed and I’ve just woken up.  I’m glad of the sleep though.  Lily I’m glad you had some sleep.  It makes all the difference.
I've been picking my way through the minefield that is car insurance this afternoon. I've still got a while to go yet but it is quite shocking the range of prices that are quoted. It is a necessary evil but how is it that companies cannot be more competitive in their prices. Those that quote humungous prices must realise that they are most unlikely to get any customers and they are able themselves to cruise the internet and know what others are quoting. Maybe they do not WANT any customers. 🤔 That must be it.

Happy birthday to little ones. I like green too.
