Thanks for all the Cosmos compliments - there's quite a few budding now so should start to compete with the cornflowers in that border. Zinnia coming up on the rails. A couple of flowers are fallers though (actually - never got out of the starting gates) Â
We've had some workmen makes noise since 7.30am @Ladybird4. They've done for the day now but I wasn't impressed with where they chose to lean their barriers and the fact that one chap starting his drilling before his dopey mate actually put up the warning signs and barriers I'd put these photos on another thread.
Gosh @Biglad, if that were my garden I would be fizzing. In fact I would have shifted the barriers off my precious plants and left them on the pavement. How can people be so clueless?!

It guzzled loads of them but I wasn't quick enough to snap anything clearer. Certainly had its fill and there are loads on the tree that appeared out of nowhere a couple of years ago Â
Mowed both lawns today - can you tell I've had a couple of hours skiving off? Â
Been busy today, popped to Homebase to buy paint for kitchen and conservatory (it was buy one get second half price). I also got some more chalk paint. I've been trying to distract myself from diet and gall bladder problems by painting kitchen furniture and now I've started on the dining table and chairs. Found some floor tiles that I think will work in the kitchen, it's a shame to cover the ceramic ones but the colour really grates since we had the worktops and doors changed. Â
I'm back home. The house is full of cobwebs and dead ant debris but hardly any dust. I've hoovered my bedroom and the bathroom. Garden is OK, may have lost 3 shrubs, Hydrangea Pink Annabelle, Elderflower Black Lace and, surprisingly, a Perovskia. The Perovskia in the flower bed is fine. The round courgettes are like footballs. Picked raspberries for dinner, pud. Leeks look great and so does perpetual spinach, but some is going to seed. Patrick has mown and strimmed. I think the donkey was pleased to see me.
Busy good to hear your safely back.  Have a restful evening and recharge your batteries.  I would have been very pleased to see the donkey too.  Biglad a great picture of a blackbird feeding on rowan berries.  Yvie I hope you enjoy painting in the kitchen.  I’m signing out now.  Sending my best wishes to all those in the quiet corner and wishing you all a good evening.  LB I hope you sleep soundly this evening.
I enjoyed the return of Mastermind tonight and thought that Clive Myrie did an excellent job as the new question master. My brain melted during Only Connect though. I'm signing out for tonight people. See you all tomorrow.

I'll work late to make up for it though
