Off for a run in a bit then the Dentist later, then off to the tip. Green waste collection has been suspended and we have a lot of green waste right now. More than we can compost.
After that I will sit and knit
    have a great day everyone

That reminds me @SilviSherr … unless I can persuade the Under Gardener to lend me his arms so I can wind some more yarn off the skein, I won’t be able to take my knitting away with us … I shall remind him that I’m making his favourite lasagne for supper … that should do it … 😉

    Good morning all.

As we were in lockdown in France when it was OH's birthday in February, then he went back to England and I stayed in France for 3 1/2 months, I never took him out for his birthday meal. We are going to Southwold Harbour today to the fish restaurant which he loves.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning all. It looks lovely out there this morning, brilliant sunshine and only a small breeze so might be (fingers crossed) a much nicer day.
Thanks @Hosta, you were up early again! Pleased to report the headache's gone thank goodness. Just a gentle walk this morning to fetch the paper and maybe some gardening later.
Southwold fish restaurant sounds good @Busy-Lizzie, unfortunately we didn't see as much of Southwold as we would have liked because OH couldn't walk easily but that gives us a good reason to go again. Enjoy the birthday celebration.
The French restaurant in Cirencester we went to on Sunday offered some good fish dishes, OH had a crab and avocado starter, followed by delicious mussels in a very rich creamy sauce whilst my friend had some kind of fisherman's pie for her main. I was tempted by the sea bass but we have that quite often so fancied steak and frites. My dessert was one of the most heavenly I've ever had, a chocolate and praline crepe with Chantilly creme, mmm.
That takes me right back @Dovefromabove, I often used to help my grandma wind her yarn.
Enjoy your run (but probably not the dentist) @SilviSherr.

We went to the Van Gogh "immersive" experience in London with twins & mum. It was interesting,  lots of on screen projections of his work plus a good summary of his life and work.  It's a way of seeing all his major work without having to travel half the world.
Glad you enjoyed it  @Allotment Boy - we have tickets for February 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Glad your head is feeling better @Lizzie27.  And enjoy Southwold @Busy-Lizzie ⛵️⛵️⛵️

We are also off to the tip this morning, then I’m helping at the Dementia Centre this afternoon.

At last, the rain seems to have left us - looking forward to a bit of proper summer weather for a change 😎😎😎

The Van Gogh experience sounds great @Allotment Boy B)   ... I was immensely lucky in 1990 to spend a few days in Amsterdam with another artist, visiting the huge retrospective that was put on at the Rijksmuseum for his centenary ... the whole building was filled with nothing but his paintings and drawings; loans from all over the world; virtually his entire oeuvre,  never seen together before or since ... it was the most wonderful experience and still a very vivid memory ... and I can still remember the weight of the two tomes, one of his paintings and one of his drawings, with accompanying academic essays, that I bought and carried around for all that time.   :D

Think there's some typos there @WonkyWomble , but I get the gist ;) .  I googled the book and there seemed to be just the one available anywhere, and that was second hand, so I ordered it quick.  Should be with you any day, and we'll borrow it when you've had a good look at it.  Have a good day ...
