Good evening everyone , sorry to hear about your fall @Lizzie27.Ā We went to the Van Gogh "immersive" experience in London with twins & mum. It was interesting,Ā lots of on screen projections of his work plus a good summary of his life and work.Ā It's a way of seeing all his major work without having to travel half the world.Ā Not as good as seeing the originals of course but an interesting concept. We were lucky with the rain again as we got to Wembley Park on the met line it absolutely threw it down so got a bit damp just crossing the platform to go to jubilee line,Ā but by the time we got to the end of the line to pick up the car it had almost stopped again.Ā
Ā Thanks for your good wishes folks. I went to bed for the afternoon and feel a bit better now. Managed dinner, soft quiche and veg cut up in small pieces and drinking coffee with a straw. Not prepared for a possible 5 hour wait in A&E only to be told to go to bed and rest. There's not much treatment for concussion anyway, only rest, I've had it before. Had a terrific rainshower whilst I was asleep according to OH so he found it rather damp digging up some spuds and carrots and picking runners for dinner. The garden looks drowned. That's tentative good news about your NDN @Punkdoc, let's hope it's true. Not sure what you can do about your MIL, could you all club together to pay the extra or a remortage? It's hellishly difficult but Moira might have to sit her mother down and explain the finances to her. Love the thought of your roos helping with the washing @Pat E.Ā Interesting that you think the Alexander technique helps with back pain and posture @Obelixx, used to know a woman way back who practiced it. Perhaps I should check it out too. Just heard back from our friend who drove the bride to her wedding yesterday in his Austin, he enjoyed it as well and they made a handsome donation to the Club as a thankyou which was very nice.
I got a cheque in the post this morning for Ā£950 so it's been a good day here Sneaked a lunchtime run in, which is a novelty whilst I'm working. As long as I can get away with it, it could well become a regular occurrence. I worked my last contract from home and found it pretty stressful. I've resolved to do it better this time. No 16-hour days, more exercise and more gardening. If that means I can't get the job done, they can stick it Ā
That's a nice surprise @Biglad, lunchtime runs and/or gardening very good for stress relief so keep it up! I'm trying to persuade my daughter to enjoy gardening but she complains the weeds keep coming back and the grass keeps growing. She'll learn.
Morning all. Clear blue sky this morning and minus 3 Iām told. Ā The washing is happily flapping on the line, so when itās warmer out there,Iāll get it in.Ā
Thinking about the Roos. My chiropractor who has a bush block several miles along the road from us, told me that when he went out there one day, there was a roo hung up on the fence. So, being the very caring person that he is, he went over to free it from the wire lines. He was quite indignant, when he told me, that the bl..dy thing bit him when he freed it. ššš. Ā Ungrateful animal. Ā Ā
I must admit we donāt usually get that close to them.
Ā Not me. Iāve just been out with a bin to collect sticks for the fire. š. It makes it easier to light the big pieces of wood.Ā
My Mum used to send me to the paddock of trees across the road to collect sticks for lighting her stove. Her cooking was on a āfuel stoveā as they used to call them in the 40s. Ā
Oh ⦠I went back to sleep @punkdoc  ⦠but thanks anyway ⦠Iād been listening to the most fascinating programme on World Service with Michael Harding who makes the best artists oil colours in the world ⦠I have used them when Iāve wanted something very special ⦠they can be expensive ⦠his expertise is phenomenal. Fascinating interview. Highly recommended ⦠available on BBC Sounds ⦠search āIn the Studioā.Ā
Iām awake again now ⦠good morning everyone š āļøĀ
