  • Hello all,

Congratulations @punkdoc, on all fronts, fingers crossed the sale goes thru without any hiccups. Good to hear success of niece considering all the difficulties she must have had to overcome too in current times.

Hope you're feeling better @Lizzie27, sounds like you managed to enjoy your jaunt before your fall though.

I have managed to read back a bit, but very much skim reading so I hope I haven't missed any major events. Running at lunchtime @Biglad, well done keep it up - work life balance very important - she says!

Still extremely busy at work, sunday was phenomenal, last evening a queue to get in again, no other restaurants in town open on a Monday! Everyone now has to have proof of vaccine to get in any restaurant or bar, so far it hasn't made any difference, apart from the extra hassle of checking everyone - I have had to buy a smartphone just to keep on the premises to scan everyone. It really isn't a fair way of moving the responsibilty onto restaurant /bar owners, we had one lady complain already and one family we had to refuse entry (Dutch). We are all very uncomfortable having to deal with it. There are some very strong opiniated people out there that disagree with the policy, I am just hoping me and my staff don't end up getting any abuse thrown at us. I have told them all to just apologize and say we are only doing what we have to do.

That said, today I managed lunch out at a favourite little family restaurant about half an hur away from me and they weren't wearing masks or asking for the pass at all. It seems that because everyone in the building (or terrace) has the pass then masks are no longer compulsory, I am letting individuals choose for themselves, but in the main peaople are sticking with the masks.

I am now enjoying a coffee in front of my wildly overgrown but jolly new 'hotbed' resisting the urge to 'garden' before I start work again at 6pm. All very civilised for once.

I started work on this last January I think.

St. Anne's Oxford? That's my old college, but I bet it's changed a good deal since I was there. Well done @Lyn 's grandson!
PS I don't usually post in Forkers, but that's an achievement worth congratulating.
