LB it’s rather hot here too, rain not forecast until later next week. Too hot to go in the garden this afternoon. Topbird it will be interesting watching their visits to and fro from your planter. Busy it sounds fun looking at all the gardens and having lunch out. Beautiful pictures. Ante enjoy your cooler nights and enjoy the beans. Hazel, LBs right your picture is very apt. Topbird sorry to hear about your dreams. I do hope this settles on. Try and modify what you watch although, as we know, it’s often too late for that. I do hope hope it settles. Debs you might want to dip your toes in the paddling pool. I’m sure they’ll have fun. Lily sitting under the oak tree just listening to the birds is a lovely way to spend time. Biglad I visited the rellies and they have small pea sized green tomatoes appearing.
@Songbird-1 I've only just learnt how important and complicated a trellis is. Expert tweaking is not to be sniffed at
Mine has now received its final lick of paint and is drying rapidly. I've sawed off and painted the 4 blocks which will be attached to the shed to give the required space behind the trellis.
Just having a quick golf-watching break before I get the drill out to finish the job
Good to know that I'm not behind every tomato-grower in the country @bluebellsinthewild. I've noticed a few more pea-sized tomatoes this morning but the previously pea-sized ones are getting closer to grape-sized now
Hi Folks, Phew its a hot one. Spent an hour or so this morning deadheading and tidying. I've retired to the sitting room now which is quite cool in the afternoon. I slept well because we have a mobile air conditioning unit which we bought many years ago. We only use it for a few weeks each year but it's great at keeping us cool at night. Might go out and do a bit more when the sun goes down. Will need to water at the very least.
Afternoon everyone. Its 31°C in my upstairs rooms. Tonight could be interesting. Maybe I could just hang out in the shower. I haven't done any gardening work today as I woke up with an extremely painful right shoulder - think I did too much the other day. I couldn't even lift my toothbrush with my right hand.
Sorry to hear about your disturbing dreams T'Bird. Hazel had one of those the other week and, yes, you can wake up feeling absolutely exhausted. Meant to say the other day that the sound of your cruise next year is wonderful. With a bit of luck it will be all systems go.
Biglad, sounds like you have done a good job with the trellis. My shed trellis has completely disintegrated so that is another job on the 'to do' list. With the road closures next week I might feel like getting stuck in to sorting that out - depending on the shoulder!
Hope Debs and her family are having a nice BBQ. They certainly got the weather for it. I bet they were all fighting over the paddling pool. My Bestie set hers up last Thursday.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB, do take care with your shoulder . As Hazel says we are over the age of 27 now. Come to think of it I am over the age of 37.☺️ I hope your headache free now Hazel . This warm weather is ok for a short time . I don’t know how people work in it.Popped out and watered the pots a few minutes ago. That’s all I have done outside today .
Yvie your Grandson’s are lovely ,obviously having a great time . Bruno , Casper and Rufus have been flat out on the landing most of the day .I have sponged them down with cool water . Casper hissed at me ,but I could see he was more comfortable ,Bruno enjoyed the experience but decided to dry off on my bed throw and Rufus enjoyed the cool water . Very unusual for cats but they looked happier after the sponging down . I hope Chive is ok .I am signing out folks , goodnight I hope you sleep .

We enjoyed the NGS garden we saw today, great selection of plants. I've posted photos on the Garden Visits thread.
@Topbird, yesterday's village was Coney Weston. I hope you sleep peacefully tonight.
