Back from bottle decorating. Had to rescue a little toad out of the toilet. We have no idea how it got there. The others were too scared to pick it up. I like toads.
Hazel, I do hope that your tooth is finally sorted tomorrow. I am going to sign out for tonight. Fingers crossed for unbroken sleep.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Finally got outside to do some watering mid-innings. A few French beans, peas, broad beans and cabbage harvested ended up as a veggie curry for one. Just what you need in this chilly weather
The T20 cricket was very exciting in the end. I imagine that the beer sales at Old Trafford were eye-watering. Just hope a covid spike doesn't come as a result
Yvie I hope Gabriel has a better night and mum. I hope the air is cooler. LB Lily looks very relaxed. Hazel I hope all goes well at the dentist. I’ve lost part of my filling, but my earliest appointment is next week. Goodnight everyone.
Good morning LB and all to follow. Full day at work today not looking forward to it at all in this heat.
LB I mean the stuff you buy on rolls not real bamboo. Just to screen the ugly fence it’s annoying to have to pay out to do so but I can’t grow anything on the fence and I can’t wait for screening shrubs to grow I find it so ugly.
Hope those who are unwell feel better soon and every one canstay cool.
Good morning everyone. Debs take care at work I hope today goes quickly for you.. LB I see you have been rifling through my photos again .Idont think that one is very flattering of me .😁
Good morning Debs, Ruby and Hazel. Yes, Debs, it is annoying you have to fork out to cover the eyesore but your choice of screen should work very well, especially if you can eventually get some climbers to grow up it.
Tee hee Ruby, sorry to post a photo of you online. Just couldn't resist!
Good luck at the dentist's Hazel. Fingers crossed this will be the last time for a while.

Morning all. Need to cut the grass this morning and then pack up the van and do a bit of cooking ready for a few days away at a music festival in Kent. Leaving tomorrow, back on Monday. Unfortunately, the weather is forecast to break this weekend - just hope we don't get too much rain Sun & Mon.
@debs64 - I'm sorry to hear you don't like your neighbours new fence although a very dark grey / black is a good foil to show off plants. A few people around my village have used bamboo screening in various locations. It looks good when first installed but seems deteriorate quite quickly and then looks rather scruffy. Hazel panels last longer but only about 3 seasons before they can also start to look untidy.
I wonder if a couple of strategically placed full height trellis panels (installed in your garden (not attached to the fence) - perhaps painted cream or another soft colour - would break up the fence visually so it's less imposing. You could also use them to grow climbing roses and or clematis.
Just an idea.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
