Hi all. I always look in but rarely get to comment on anything as you have changed the topic several times before I get to read it. I'm keeping well but very busy. Not enough hours in the day for me. Keep safe and well.
Good morning all another hot day forecast not the best at work all day but staffing levels are getting back to normal at least. Looking forward to cooler days which are on the way.
The plan is to grow climbers and shrubs in front of bamboo screening I need a quick and cheap solution really it’s not ideal but options are limited.
Sounds like you are all enjoying the good weather and keeping busy.
I am a Deborah and there were lots of us at my school, my mom learnt her lesson and called my younger sister Venetia.
T'Bird, I missed your post last night but reading it this morning made me think eeeeuuuuurggghh! Did those vendors actually WANT to sell their house. That is gross.
Chive, you are not alone in doing unusual things late at night. I fall into that category too. I was watering in the gloom late last night after signing out on here. The workman didn't actually ask for permission Chive. He was just warning me that exiting my drive might be difficult Lily is another fan lover. She sprawls out in front of it. Bestie was telling me that she got a cooling mat from one of the well known cheaper SMs for her son and DIL's cat, Jasper. If I got one for Lily I think she might just ignore it.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone .Debs ,both you and your sisters names are lovely .I had a similar experience at the place I last worked ,there were five people with my name .
Good Morning Debs, LB & Rubee and all to follow, warm already 🥵 Debs Pleased to hear the staffing levels are improving, hopefully you’ll not be having to put in those extra hours. Good ideas to help with screening the unsightly fence, much nicer to look at, LB Wet things still damp this morning I had high hopes there 😀 I suspect Nel would share Lily’s view of the cooling mat, but it does sound a good idea. Hope the disruption outside doesn’t go on for too long, Rubee Crumbs 5 of you with the same name at work that was unfortunate, Heading to mums today as my sister will be there too, hope you all have a good day ahead.
Morning everyone. Another beautiful sunny morning, slightly cooler after the rain last night. @Ladybird4 & @Topbird I can remember a particular house we went to view many years ago, the garden was immaculate and I've never seen such a beautiful garden since. But once inside it was obvious nothing was done indoors! It wasn't just extremely untidy, but dirty as well. 🤢 We couldn't get out quick enough. Have a lovely day everyone, enjoy this beautiful weather.
Morning all. A very misty start to the day for a change. Forecast to burn off soon and get hot quite quickly. Just need to fill up the fresh water tanks and we're ready for off - M25 / Dartford Crossing here we come 😬
SGL & LB - I could have understood the one house we went to which could only be described as squalid (one room was literally just a pile of stuff which had been lobbed in and left - it was like one of those programmes on the TV) - but it was obvious in many of the houses we visited that little had been done to prepare for the viewing. Unsurprisingly they'd been up for sale for a few months.
Not wishing to jinx myself but I have sold 4 houses over the years. Each one was sparkling for viewings and each one sold within 5 days of going on the market. There was nothing particularly special about any of them and the asking price for all of them was more than the estate agents suggested. I think viewers could just tell that the house and gardens had been well looked after and there weren't going to be any nasty surprises waiting for them.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello folks @Topbird ... that reminds me of being shown around a house by an estate agent's junior who'd obviously never been to that house before ... every bedroom was decorated rather lavishly and had mirrored ceilings, but there was no downstairs furniture, just coffee making facilities in the kitchen and several toothbrushes in mugs in the bathroom. It was obviously being used as a .... well, I'll leave that to your imagination .... The poor chap was mortified .... needless to say we decided it wasn't the place for us.
I'm still perplexed as to what was behind the inspiration to cover the low level loo cistern with Artex tho' .....
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I think we must have had another overnight shower because everything is still damp. It makes the garden feel cooler but as we're due to be at 28 degrees later on, that won't last
Something has had a midnight strawberry feast. It would have had to climb into an old recycling tub. I'm hoping squirrel but fearing rat
