  • Hazel I hope your son is feeling better in the next few days after the effects of the jab.  LB what a beautiful picture of a robin.  I know LB and Biglad the Olympics is sufficient.  Lily I’ll join you, LB, Rubee and Chive for a cuppa.  I’ll bring Alfie to meet Nel, he could be smitten🥰.  Topbird and LB great track love Queen. I hope you have a sing-a-long.

Hello all ... hope those who were suffering are on the mend  ... it's been a busy morning here ... bedlinen flapping in the breeze, tomatoes, squashes etc attended to and watering done, sourdough pizzas prepped and a 'proper cottage loaf' made ... then I had an early lunch of a lovely herby omelette, and now I have the afternoon to set aside to hold the sofa down while knitting and watching the Olympics ...........  multi-tasking?  moi?  Easy peasy 😉

    Hello all.

It's grey, cool and breezy here, no rain.

I hope your son feels better soon @Songbird-1. My Son 2 had a bad reaction to the jab too. He was quite ill in January 2020, thought it was 'flu. It could have been Covid, we had hardly heard of it then, so his reaction may have been due to antibodies. He's a dentist so was vaccinated earlier than other people his age.

We've been to the monthly farmers market at the village hall. They serve breakfast there too so I had a bacon roll and OH had cheese straws, washed down with coffee. I bought a lovely looking loaf of bread, some veg, some Florentines, steak, lamb and mint burgers and 3 plants. I have a place for the tall red helenium, but where am I going to put the short blue aster and the pink lychnis chalcedonica? But 3 decent plants for £10 wasn't bad D

Had to pop out to get some fresh fruit and veg.  The sun is trying to peek through the clouds.
I'll pop the kettle on again girlies, I've biscuits Ruby, but no ginger thins sorry.
Loved the funny @Ladybird4......7! Oh do tell. 😁
    2 and a half for me 😉🤭😂😂
@Songbird-1 so sorry to hear your son had an awful night. Do hope it doesn't last long and he gets well soon.
@Biglad I'm with you on the way they speak,  can't stand it when they say quid or kids. Wish they'd say vaccine instead of Jab. 😂
@Topbird hope the weather improves for you. I'm not a fan of Blur or Oasis either. And dare I say it not really Queen either. Especially Bohemian Rapsody .......very soz LB. I'm ducking, I'm ducking 😂😂

Ha ha ha SGL. There is absolutely no need for you to duck at all. We all have differing tastes and thats what makes the world so wonderfully diverse. I dare say that there may be some people on here who like ancient opera - I think it sounds like cats fighting in a bag. I couldn't watch Morse or the Endeavour spin off because of the ghastly music that made my ears bleed!
Hazel, I too hope that your son recovers soon. Better a small inconvenience than actually getting and suffering the virus.
Busy, definitely a bargain set of plants there - now to find places for them all.

    @Biglad 🥳

Hazel - Sound like your son has been affected quite badly by his vaccine - I hope he feels better very soon. Reaction symptoms usually start to ease within 48hrs so, if he's not starting to feel better after 4 or 5 days, he should phone the GP's sugery just to confirm he doesn't need any attention - especially if he has (or gets) a bad, persistent headache.

The Ratpack group were good and had everyone up and dancing and singing along. OH taught me new words to Dean Martin's "That's Amore" -

🎼 When an eel bites your thigh
And you bleed out and die
    That's amore 🎶🎵

I'll never be able to sing the original lyrics again....

Acoustic folksy stuff at 4pm and the sun may start shining soon😎

Your plants sound lovely @Busy-Lizzie now the fun of finding where to put them 😉🤗

Hehe @Ladybird4 I can't stand Opera either, like your description 😂 Just sounds like a terrible noise to me and also like that don't know the words.🤭

T'Bird! You've only gone and done it now (I blame your OH!) but I will never be able to hear that song again with thinking of the new lyrics. Hilarious. The sun has only just put in an appearance here. Been quite cool all day - good excuse to watch Olympics and The Hundred. Best feed Lily now though as I'm getting the 'look'.

  • Topbird it sounds like you’re having a lovely time.  I hope the weather holds.   I managed to get some spotlight bulbs for the kitchen.  The old halogens were dying one by one.  The LEDs are much brighter.   I didn’t realise how dark it was in there before.  I’ve been watching the swimming.  Adam Peaty was leading the way putting in an impressive performance.  I’ve just made a cuppa and having a Maryland cookie as a reward.  LB it’s been cooler here today as a change from yesterday which was rather warm.
