Evening everyone. Oh my goodness but I'm exhausted - over 2hrs of non- stop singing and dancing. The ska band were simply brilliant and nearly everyone was up and dancing hard. We raised the roof! Tremendous fun but I'm gonna know about it tomorrow... This evening's entertainment still to come - hope they're half as good.
We had a bit of a downpour at about 5pm but nothing worse although it's gone very dark again. Having seen the pictures of flooding (again) in London I think we got off lightly as we're only about 10 miles SE of Greenwich.
LB - I was saddened to read of the lady who'd lain unattended for so long. A reminder to us all to keep an eye on those arround us - even if they don't welcome the attention.
When we were in Somerset back in April OH went for a bike ride while I visited E Lambrooke. He hit a kerb and came off his bike very heavily. The bike was a bit twisted and he also took a big lump out of his knee and arm. He was at a junction and sitting in the road, rather stunned and with blood pouring down his leg. 3 cars came up to the junction and slowed to pull out. They all saw him but not one asked if he was ok. Even worse a 'fellow' cyclist went passed, took one look and cycled on without a word. I was absolutely furious on his behalf. Some people are so inconsiderate. Others (like our Rubee) go above and beyond...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Evening T'Bird. So glad you had a fun time today and I hope you are not too stiff - or your ears too buzzy tomorrow. Good grief how dreadful that people didn't stop to help your OH. Its beyond belief that people are so inconsiderate. As for one being another cyclist - there are no words!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Topbird I’m sorry to hear your oh had no assistance from passer byes after his accident. It would have been considerate to ask him if he was okay. Surprised the other cyclist didn’t stop.
@Songbird-1 your quite welcome to our rain Hazel, it hasn't stopped raining all day. The garden is like a bog. 23 will love the games, you'll have lots of fun too. @Topbird glad you're having a lovely time. Enjoy this evening. How awful nobody stopped to see how your OH was.....especially the cyclist.
Hi all, not had chance to read back everything but thanks for good wishes, oldest daughter is now well and clear to go back to work but brother is not improving at all.
What a sad thing to hear about the elderly lady, round here there is a lot of interaction between my lady neighbours each side and further down, awful to think nobody would miss you in 4 months.
Fiancé’s friend was very pleased that we made the effort to visit I fear he has a difficult time ahead as his mother is very sick indeed. We are hoping he comes back to England one day.
TBird what happened to your oh was terrible.I am sorry that he didn’t get any help ,it beggars belief .Some people seem not to have a conscience.I am not surprised that you were so angry . I am signing out sleep well friends .
Even someone passed out drunk needs checking on. Everyone is someone’s son or daughter, or someone’s parent. No one knows what has driven someone to follow a downward path 😢 I hope I’d never pass by on the other side … I haven’t done so far anyhow …

Thankfully not our little village, but only a few miles away.
