Good morning all. So sorry to hear about your little cat Ante, hope you have many happy memories of him. No need to apologise I often don’t pop in every day but am always interested to read back and hear the news from everyone.
Things are a bit difficult here oldest daughter ( doctors receptionist) has had covid despite both vaccines and was fairly poorly and my youngest brother is very ill too, has been for two weeks now, he hasn’t had his vaccines and is now paying the price I am afraid. He lives alone and it’s difficult to help but my sister and I went yesterday with food and drink. It’s a worry.
Work is looking busy again as we return to pre pandemic levels with not enough staff. I am doing extra hours.
Going to Oxford later for fiancé to say goodbye to a chef from his old place who is going back to India tomorrow, his mother is extremely sick and he needs to go home. He was a good friend to fiancé and will be missed.
Ooh sorry @Rubee you weren't there just now. Morning! 🙋🏻♀️ Glad you managed to get back to sleep @Dovefromabove @Ante30 good to see you. So sorry to hear about your little cat. Sending a hug. No need to apologise, we know you're busy. Glad you're well. @debs64 so sorry to hear your sister and brother are ill. Sending my very best wishes, hope they get better soon. Hope you have a lovely afternoon with your friend, sad to say goodbye, but lots of happy memories.
Good to see you Ante .Sad to read about little Sock .Sending you a big hug . Debs sorry your daughter and brother are poorly . I do hope that they are better soon .It’s always difficult to say goodbye.Your fiancé will be pleased that he has said goodbye in person .
Good Morning Everyone, Early start for you SGL, sounds like your garden has had a good watering, LB Have a lovely time visiting your rellies today, pleased to hear your nephew & family made it to France after all the fuss, Rubee Hope you got your potting up done in the garden, a good storm might clear the air, Ante So sorry to hear about poor Socks, you did everything you could for him Ante. It’s always nice to see you, I hope you have a chance to relax later today after this traumatic week, Dove What a rude awakening 😳 none too discreet with their antics are they!
Hazel I hope your son is feeling better, don't stop worrying no matter what their age do you 😊 Debs Sorry to hear that your eldest daughter has been poorly with Covid and your youngest brother is suffering, I hope they both recover soon. Enjoy your day in Oxford,
Topbird ABBA & Queen I’m there 🎤🎶 Bluebells Those kitchen lights sound much better, what a difference it can make. I’m sure Nel would be just as smitten with Alfie 😻 Hope you all have a good Sunday.
Hi @Chivetalking garden is absolutely drenched, but it does look lovely and fresh. It's still raining 🤦🏻♀️ We've had some rumbles of thunder too. @Songbird-1 thinking of you, hope your son is feeling better this morning.
LB I didn’t see the thunder moon either. Enjoy your visit with your rellies. I would have gone to see mine but Alfie seemed out of sorts so keeping an eye on him. Lily I’m glad you enjoyed catching up with your son. Oh Ante I’m so sorry to hear about Socks that is so sad. I send my best wishes to you. I remember when I took my cat Ed from the vets and he had been diagnosed with end stage kidney failure and there was nothing to resolve it and had him put to sleep and we buried him in the garden and planted some primroses around my special cat. Debs I’m sorry to hear of daughter and brother. I do hope they will feel better soon and that your brother gets vaccinated at that point. He will appreciate the food. It will be sad for your fiancé to say goodbye to a good friend. Chive I hope you’re having a relaxing day. Alfie would be chuffed with Nel. Hazel I hope your son is feeling better than he did do. Have a good day everyone.
Ante - I am so sorry to hear about Sock. We know how much you love your cats and what a loss it will be to you. Look after yourself my friend and make a special place to remember your feline friends.
Debs - hope your daughter & brother both make a full recovery soon.
Dove - there are a lot of muntjac here and they seem to regard my garden as an open pantry in the winter - less so in the summer. I find their barking plus vixen screams rather unsettling. I'm used to it after years of living in the countryside but I still don't like it. However, an owl gently too-wit-too-wooing is very comforting.
LB - enjoy seeing the rellies. Hope the roads are ok. Haven't watched any of the 'lympics yet.
Chive - Abba and Queen - if only.... The description for the music last night was a 'party band' which turned out to be disco / funk 🤨
Ah well! swings and roundabouts. The 2 groups yesterday afternoon were great - especially the second turn. Absolutely fab - everyone was up and dancing along and their rendition of Sweet Caroline with audience participation was riotous. We were noisier than those fans at Wembley (sorry @Biglad - those fans at Wem-ber-ley 😜)
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
@debs64 I hope your brother and sister will be better soon.
No rain yet, was forecast. It's cool and grey.
I must get on with preparing our meal for tonight. Crab and salmon rosties with avocado salsa, then roast chicken breast with roast vegetables, then lemon tart.
Had wondered about visiting an NGS garden, but the only one I like the sound of is a bit far and we have already seen it another year.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

We had a cat called Socks when I was four years old … he was a magnificent mouser.
