I echo Pauline. Please may I have some of your rain too. According to my local weather forecast I may have light rain showers and a gentle breeze on Tuesday Hmmm.
Busy, that thought did cross my mind too. I think/hope I would have had the nous (Ante= common sense and nous rhymes with house in this case) to check well before 4 months had passed, however reclusive that the lady had been. Your meal sounds yummy by the way.
Hazel, its good to hear that your son is feeling a little better. I've had a No Cold Callers poster in the window next to my front door for ages - it probably needs re-doing but one smarty pants who wanted to tarmac my drive for me just said,' I can't read missus'. I told him that he should have paid more attention in school. Cheeky rip!
What games are you getting for 23? Garden Jenga is a great games for all ages. I bought a set to take on our February holidays and it always goes down a storm with the great Niblings. Mind you, they do cheat!
Chive, one of my nephews used to love his Grandma's corned beef hash pie and he was always dropping some not so subtle hints every time he went around to visit. Dad had an inspection pit in his garage (inherited with the house) and he and my brothers were always down there tinkering with their cars underparts! Coming out filthy as well.

Wotcher Biglad - you snuckered in there. Yes, I thought that at 02:20 this morning. Do skateboarders mutate into snowboarders in the winter I wonder. My new bit of knowledge for today was learning what trucks are (related to the skateboarding). I think I need an Urban dictionary to follow what they are all talking about - but maybe Greek would be easier!

@Ante30 Sorry to hear about socks,  it's really sad when you lose a pet.
@debs64 Hope your brother and sister improve soon
@Ladybird4 That's such a sad story. Even if my mum had refused to see me I would still have checked on her occasionally.

I've  been out in the garden all day today.  Managed to get lots done and everything is looking much better.  Think I'll pay for it tomorrow though.

It's still hammering down here, you can all have a share. The water is pouring out of the bottom of the hanging baskets 😱  the grass looks sodden.  There can't be any more up there....can there!🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
    @Chivetalking that's what Nans are for 😉🥰
@Ladybird4 I thought exactly the same, that's a long time to leave things. I really hope she didn't suffer at all and wasn't lying there unable to get up. So very sad.  Can't stop thinking about her.

Yes Yvie and SGL, I did think the same. Even a quarrel on the doorstep would be enough to let you know that she was still OK.

Nice to see you Pauline, I would send some wet stuff but it’s already gone, the ground barely got damp it was that brief,
Biglad 😂 That did make me chuckle,
Hazel Pleased your son is feeling better today, sorry I misread your earlier post. Garden games for 23 are a great idea,
LB How fantastic having your own inspection pit, for Young chive that would be the cherry on the Rhubarb crumble 😊
Yvie How are OH & Gabriel? Hope OH has got news of an eye appointment,

LB that is so sad . The poor woman. I hope that she didn’t suffer .Brings to mind when my OH blacked out in front of our house .He rolled into the gutter .He had been smoking a cigar.Always smoked outdoors .When I popped out to see where was he was ,I saw people passing making derogatory remarks about him being drunk,he wasn’t  .Not one of the three people that passed checked to see if he was ok .Sometimes you despair at some peoples lack of concern for their fellow man / woman.
I do so hope that lady didn’t suffer .

Hazel, those games sound like huge fun. I'm having a sneaky suspicion that the big people might have just as much fun - if not more than 23!

Ruby, that is awful that noone took the effort to make sure that your OH was not in any difficulties. There are just as many stories of people who do care about their fellow human beings though - you and your OH for example on getting your rude awakening the other day.

  • LB it does seem an awfully long time to pass by without them checking though. I have been thinking about her this afternoon and feeling sad for her.   Busy enjoy your meal it sounds lovely.  I’ve stayed in all day watching over Alfie who hasn’t been sick from this morning thankfully.  I’ve been using a lot of antibacterial wipes.
