I'm watching The Hundred but I'm not sure I'll become a big fan. At the moment, I don't even know who the two young chaps are wittering on in their peculiar vernacular.
It will be too 'daan wiv da kids, innit' for my liking I suspect. Maybe without any sound would be best for this old fart?
I just like the fact that you get a result - on the day. I've been to too many matches where they've gone to 5 days. I used to score for the pupils matches when I taught and they were always quite fun and finished on the day even though we didn't do limited overs.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hi everyone, Have spent 6 hours in A&E today at the Midland Eye Hospital with Hubby. He announced last night that he was worried about the vision in his right eye. This is quite serious as his left eye was damaged a few years back when his retina became detached and crumpled. It was very hot with loads of people crammed into the waiting rooms, hardly any of them wearing their masks properly and most of them playing games or yakking on their mobile phones. It was my idea of hell. It turns out that he has a membrane that is covering his eye so we have to wait for an appointment through the post. I have read back but nothing seems to have registered in my overheated brain. Hope everyone is OK.
It's everything other than the cricket that will put me off @Ladybird4. It's clearly aimed at new, young fans, which isn't a problem in itself. I'm just not sure if I can cope with folk like Chris and Chunkz, the DJ and the turn. I don't know who any of them are, don't understand what they're trying to say or enjoy their music. Too distracting.
There's just been a wicket taken and it interrupted some banal wittering about who knows what The cricket will be crash, bang, wallop with close finishes (the shorter the format, the more likely it is close). They don't need to have all the noise around it.
Yvie not a pleasant way to spend time at hospital. I hope oh will soon receive his appmt for his eye and can soon be sorted. Try and rest now. Biglad I think I prefer the original too. Goodnight everyone.
Yvie I am sorry to hear about your hubby’s eye I do hope it gets sorted soon . Try to rest you must be very tired .Oh dear Hazel that must have been a very hot hour and twenty five minutes . Oops fell asleep on the sofa. So sorry to hear about your OH eye @Yviestevie Hope he gets an appointment soon. Hope Gabriel is feeling much better. Take care of yourself too. @Songbird-1 it's been very hot again today, not the weather to be stuck in traffic for that length of time.
Good night everyone, hope we all get a good night's sleep tonight
I couldn’t sleep so I made a cuppa and Alfie came to my side to keep me company. Watched the news and channel hopping. Not the right time to find good tv. Yvie I hope Gabriel has had a better night. Hazel a long time in traffic in the heat. I hope you cooled down later. Lily off to bed lass and I hope you sleep.
