LB I was doing the same with the women’s 100, although test cricket bods are not happy. Topbird it sounds grim. Chive Alfie’s bowl was empty this morning so he led me to his disappointment. He was very happy to have his breakfast. Alfie’s been sprawling on the floor with the heat.
I've been doing unmentionable things with blue liquid involving windows and yellow, honey smelling spray involving wood this morning and 2 loads of washing are outside.
There is a pretty little thatched cottage with a jungle of a front garden in a village near here. I, being nosy, was curious as to the inside, it's now on Rightmove. The old lady must have died or gone into care, she must have been a hoarder, cottage is in a dreadful state. I wonder if she had friends or family, I hope so.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good afternoon everyone. Do you think if you sweat enough you could lose a stone overnight?? 🤞🏽 I am lathered. I had to do a Carol Klein in the GH and top dress the baby semps I potted up yesterday with grit. Just out of curiosity I looked at my max/min thermometer. The slider on the max side had been pushed up as far as it could go - a mere 45°C. On the min side the slider was almost touching the bottom. I don't think I have ever known it to do that. I've done a bit of watering and dead heading and in a moment I will go and scrub the bird baths and freshen them up. I want to watch The Hundred and there will be no interruptions tonight because there is nothing worth watching on. RosieBB will you be watching the cricket? The workmen seem to have gone home as there is no further activity. I felt so sorry for them working in this heat. Judging by the chatter I overheard, some of the guys were eastern European and they seemed a happy bunch.
Hazel, you mentioned that your waste collections were decreasing in number. I was concerned that my bins wouldn't get emptied because of the road works but the recyclables bin got emptied before they started the serious work. However, the green bin remains full so heaven only knows when that will get seen to. I do hope that your SM trip is without holdups.
Biglad, the bee is definitely having a good time there and that is a pretty rose. Mysterious about your strawberry as I would have thought your two major suspects would have eaten the whole thing.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I wish that worked @Ladybird4 but, unfortunately, it all goes back on when you hydrate to replace the losses
I reckon that the diner at Cafe Strawberry was disturbed by a feline strutting past. The recycling tub is on their catrun route down the side of the house.
LB I’ll probably watch the 100 as well. It was good last night and, as you said yesterday, it’s the men tonight. It’s good to hear the workmen were jovial on such a warm day and all finished now. Hazel what a nuisance for your bin collection. The bins can fill up so quickly.
All 3 birdbaths scrubbed and filled with lovely fresh water. Not before time as they absolutely stank and Lily has a penchant for drinking out of the smallest birdbath. I am now getting ready for the cricket.

Think this bee is happy enough though
If you look really carefully, you might be able to spot some big old 'plates'
