Hubby's ECG seems to have gone well.  They couldn't find any problems with his heart so it's looking more and more likely that the cause of his stroke was severe high blood pressure caused by the clamping of the car.
Gabriel will be staying in overnight on a ward.
Must say that going to the chemist this morning and filling up at the petrol station I saw no one without a mask.  It seems that most people are being sensible.

I shall continue wearing a mask when needed Yvie. I got an email from the 'sco CEO and they are going to continue with sanitising and mask wearing and politely ask their customers to do the same though they do admit that legally they can't insist. I will be quite happy to continue complying. Good news about the scan. Is Gabriel's Mum allowed to stay in hospital with him?

Hi everyone, another scorcher of a day. Around 2 ish  the sky wwent very black and we had thinder for about 30 minutes. No rain or lightening.
@Rubee that's really lovely of you to check on your neighbour. And how wonderful he's 100 and at home.
@Yviestevie glad OH scan went well. Sorry to hear Gabrielle is in hospital again, hope he gets better soon and is able to come home.

Sainsburys  have said they want all their customers to carry on wearing masks too. I'm not going out anywhere without wearing one.  Except when walking through the woods or to the duck pond.
Still very hot,  have no idea what to eat,  it's certainly too hot to put the oven on 😥😥

I've had 4 stints in the garden today. Moving very slowly ;), trying to stay in the shade and coming in when I start melting for a drink/ice lolly/stick my head in the fridge :o

Pricked out another batch of the sacrificial marigolds and potted on all those poor babies that were pot-bound. Got my last pea plants in the ground and did a lot of staking in readiness for the continued growth explosion and the rougher weather forecast at the weekend.

Whilst I've been pottering, my CV seems to be getting passed around Europe and I'm getting calls/e-mails about my availability for work from all over the place :o

I'm reluctant to agree to anything unless I can work from home. Whoever coined 'Freedom Day' should be strung up!

Our local supermarket had all the signs/arrows/sanitiser stations in place. I've only gone in during quiet times but been amazed by the number of folk who don't understand 'shop alone', 'wear a mask' and '2m'. There seem to be a significant proportion of folk shopping as a couple. He doesn't wear a mask and stares at everyone as if daring them to confront him and she has any number of children running riot touching everything and licking bits of fruit before chucking them back for the next customer :o

It's not going to get any better in there now that the non-conformists have their freedom back :(

Hi Hazel, think you have my Hubby and BL's OH mixed up.  Hubby had to have the ECG scan as part of an investigation to find out why he had his recent Stroke.  BL's OH is having one so he can have a hip replacement (I think).

Yvie - glad your husband's scan went ok. It sounds as though he is making a good recovery🙂

BL - mmmm fish pie - especially a home made one. Always so much more fish than ready made or pub ones. Do you put any smoked fish in? I like to use a bit of smoked haddock as well as white fish and shellfish.

I shall still be wearing a mask in busy shops / other indoor spaces. IMO it's a common courtesy like covering your mouth and turning your head when you cough or sneeze.

Yes, @Yviestevie and @Songbird-1, it's my OH who had an ECG because of high blood pressure (nerves and stress that they would postpone his op) and now they've postponed his op and he has to see a cardiologist in September. He's fed up and frustrated. Really should have had his hip replacement about 2 years ago.

Had a good evening with our friends, they liked the fish pie and the sticky toffee pudding (cheated, Morrison's best is better than my homemade).
@Topbird, I raided the freezer, the pie had cod, smoked haddock, salmon and prawns. I add a veg stock cube to the white sauce and a spoon of Dijon mustard.
